I've been making my gates out of high tensile buffalo fence-most my fences are electric but stud horses and bucking bulls kind of run through electric fence gates. These seem to work good-must be a height thing-we run our electric gates in front of them to keep animals apart better-I like building these better than barb wire gates.

I hate anything that doesn't swing on a hinge.

Or maybe I should rephrase that. Those kinda gates are ok....as long as your the driver and someone else hasta get out and open it.

Gates with hinges in the pasture-that's pretty uptown Jersey-most of those gates have an electric wire gate in front of them so nothing can get at the tie ropes-had horses here forever never had one untie a gate i've tied shut yet-I'm working on getting a team of mules so it might be fun seeing what they'd do.
