BREAKING NEWS: Today Rush Limbaugh yet again crossed the line saying: by the time the debate on President Obama's health care plan is over, "it'll be called the Ted Kennedy Memorial Health Care bill." It is outrageous to demonize a patriotic Senator who has spent his life fighting so that every person has the opportunity to live the American dream. Tell Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele to denounce Rush Limbaugh once and for all.
Dear Friend,
As we approach the midway point of President Obama's first 100 days, we wanted to say thanks for all of your generous support. That's why we're excited to bring you 2009's very first edition of @Stake, a collection of the latest breaking news of what's at stake this year for America.
THE GRAND OLD (LIMBAUGH) PARTY
With George W. Bush back in Texas clearing the brush at his ranch fulltime, Republicans are digging deep to find their new leader. The contenders?
• New RNC Chairman Michael Steele called himself the "de facto leader" of the party and even called fellow contender Rush Limbaugh's show "ugly" and "incendiary." In a real profile in courage, Steele immediately changed his story and kissed up to Rush.
Of course, Steele isn't the only blubbering Republican forced to kiss King Rush's ring. Thanks to you, we launched ImSorryRush.com, the fastest and easiest way for a Limbaugh-Loving Republican to express the error of their ways to their real leader. • Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal also auditioned for the job of Republican leader when he gave the GOP response to President Obama's address to Congress - and promptly got caught lying about his role in the Hurricane Katrina recovery.

"IT'S NOT IN THE BILL" (WHOOPS)
Congressional Republicans have resorted to fictional excuses for opposing the Economic Recovery Package that President Obama signed into law last month. In fact, one Republican Congresswoman was caught red-handed making stuff up:
Talked to [Congresswoman Bono Mack] about Obama's $780 billion stimulus legislation. She's outraged that the plan has "$1 billion wasted on a magnetic-levitation train from L.A. to Sin City" – all at Nevada Sen. Harry Reid's doing.
After expressing my doubt that the Las Vegas line was actually in the bill's language, Bono Mack directs her staff to "get him the bill, it's right there, show him." A few minutes later, a staffer emerges with a copy and quietly says "it's not in the bill." [Marin Independent Journal (CA); March 1, 2009]
Thanks to you, we're holding Republicans accountable for their attempts to obstruct progress and giving everyone the chance to see how the Economic Recovery Plan will benefit their state at http://www.RecoveryForAmerica.org.
