Three weeks ago I got a phone call from a friend asking if I was looking for something to do. We've had so much rain that we haven't been able to be doing any field work, and all the shop/yard work was done, so I thought I might be interested. His cousin gave him a car to put in the demolition derby, but he already had one ready so he gave it to me. We stripped the car5 down, and I even got to paint it all pretty for my art final! It was a 1980 Pontiac Pariesenne four door with a 305. We brought the car to the derby on Sunday, and I was interviewed for the news on a small T.V. station we have in our area. I found that pretty cool. In the first heat, I was the only Rookie driver, and I got hung up in the first two minutes. But In the crippler heat I was the third last car running. I blew my transmission lines out and there was no ATF fluid going through the tranny.
Here's just a few pictures of the car after we had put it through the derby. And the Horizon Fertilizers logo on the side was painted on freehand, it is not a decal or a stencil.
