Went to town on Thursday for a few things and a dental appointment. The feed store was my second to last stop. Was leaving when I noticed an ad on the bulletin board..... CHEAP SHEEP about 30 head for $400.00. The dealer came out in me and my cell phone heated up with the speed dial I gave it.
Upshot was, I took advantage of a divorce/separation sale. The lady didn't have the money for any more feed and the sheep show that they have been short all winter.

Downside of the situation is this...... I had to take the 2 year old NANNY GOAT also to swing the transaction.

My question to you guys is this..... Might there be a BC chapter to Goat Owners Anonymous :?

If we don't find another home for IT in a day or two I will be testing out what goat chops taste like.

Aw don't worry about it gcreek. As long as your wear that pretty cap you modeled, the missus won't have any trouble spotting you in the flock . . .

My cheap sheep got more expensive this afternoon. :(

In order to haul them home, the feed dealer loaned me his F-350 and gooseneck trailer. There were two hayhooks hanging in the trailer when I loaded the sheep. There was a little pile of hay in the gateway where I unloaded last night, I picked up one of the hooks after Debbie had driven through the gate with the 7400 tractor. Quite happy that it wasn't in a tire.

The other one was.......

That is sad. I ran over a deer antler and poked a hole in a big tractor tire a couple years ago.

gcreek, i'm afraid it's to late buddy. any advice i could give you, would be useless at this point. you are now a goat herder, there is just no way around it. you have to remember...if you drive a semi one time, no one will ever call you a truck driver. BUT, you buy one nanny goat, you'll be called a goat herder the rest of your life....just like H.  :D

gcreekrch now to fence that goat ,when you think the new fence will hold the goat stand on the side the goat will be on, then throw a 5 gallon bucket of water at the fence. Every where the water goes thru fix because that where the goat will get out.

But I didn't buy this goat. It just came along for the ride because the lady said it needed to go to a good home.
So...... I started thinking that in order to make any money on the sheep the goat will have to come too.
Then... I thought that a good home for a goat was in the digestive system of a taxi driver's family. :D

Time I'm done with this deal I'll have a new set of tires for the ol' 7400. :D

sorry, that was my mistake..... it doesn't matter if you buy the goat, the goat is a gift, or it stumbles on to your place like a stray cat.

your first mistake was accepting the goat in the sheep deal. your second mistake was telling us about it. :D :D

for the record, my goat herd is currenty up to around 6 or 7 head. they only reason i am builing the herd is beacause i heard they will sell better if i have a whole load of them. so as soon as i have enough to fill a pot load, these little devils are outa here. :? :D
