OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Olympia police arrested 29 people after a officers say anti-police protest turned into a riot in the downtown streets after 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.

Olympia Police Department tells KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that a group of about 35 people marched down 4th Avenue in Olympia in what participants called a “sweep the police protest.”

Officers who monitored the march said the members were dressed in black and disguised themselves with face coverings.

Protestors blocked all lanes of traffic on 4th Avenue as they moved through downtown.

Police received reports of vandalism and graffiti in the area and received additional reports that members of the group were involved in assaulting a photographer, intentionally damaging his camera.

Officers witnessed members breaking windows of a business in the area of Jefferson Street and 4th Avenue.

Shortly after 9:00 p.m. police contacted and detained 29 members of the group near State Avenue and Adams Street.

The participants were taken into custody and booked at Olympia City jail for engaging in riotous behavior.

Isn't this where a "Fair and Balanced" Sandhusker would pose the question: "What makes them Left Wing?"

"What makes them Left Wing?"

hard to say by the article, but it was a group with numerous arrests, so it might be more representative of the "left" group thinking..
then one lone idiot

Well, look at the clues;

Where do riots primarily occur, neigborhoods that support the left or the right? What groups complain about "The Man", left supporting groups or right supporting groups? Is graffiti and vandalism more prevelant on left supporting groups/neighborhoods or right?

There have been numerous right-wing demonstrations lately, none of them dress in disguise, in black, vandalize property or threaten people. Heck, they even pick up their trash.

I know what the clues tell me, what do they tell you?

I only put it out there because you posed the ridiculous question last time regarding the Hutarees. Seems only proper that you would question what wing these protesters come from.... you know, to be fair and balanced

Why was it rediculous? I'm rightwing, all my friends are rightwing, and all of us reject the Hutarees ideas.

Obviously you are not as right wing as they are.

They couldn't even vote for the right wing, they were so "right wing". One of them was a life long Democrat.

Apparently one was. Because one is a registered Democrat it in no way makes one incapable of participating in far right activities. None of these characters appear to be very bright.

but it does question the use of "right Wing" in attempting to define their political ideologies, doesn't it?

How do you define "far right activities"?

It does not question the use of "right wing" in defining their political ideologies.
Right wing: extremely conservative, reactionary. Further to the right tend to be fundamentalist christian, further to the right likely to be racist, on and on. Of course, this is a very partial definition.

Okay, if we're all playing, lets all define right wing.

Left wing can be just as reactionary and they were the historical racists.

Your painting with a very broad brush.

Do you have more?

I said it's your turn in this stupid little game. If you really don't know, I'll try to help you.
