CAUTION: This is written by a "Bitter Clinger": A right leaning, Christian, gun toting wacko. If you take the time to read this, you acknowledge you can't complain about this post because you were warned about the bias of its content from square one.

Isn't that always the answer? Lets outlaw this or that or the other thing. This goes for food, guns, family life, etc., etc. and on down the line. I am not an anarchist but I don't want my government telling what I can shoot, what I can read or say, and what I can even eat! However, that's exactly what more and more people want.

The Gun:
Outlaw guns so that the punks who shoot innocent people with them can still get them, but civilized citizens can't. Don't say that's not true; it is! If you get a fully automatic Uzi now, you'll be able to get one with or without a gun-ban. But a basically "good" citizen with nothing more than a speeding ticket on their "criminal" record will be deprived of this privilege. If I want to go mow down a few hundred prairie dogs for my neighbor with an semi-automatic AK 47, that's my business, and not Uncle Sam's. Have you taken the time to try and buy a new gun lately? Even about 3 years back, it took several hours to check out your criminal record to make sure you could own a gun. The thug who killed many innocent teens here at Columbine didn't have a background check to get his weaponry, I can guarantee you that. A gun ban will not solve anything, and we have plenty regulations in place already. We don't need more.

Food:
Lots of reading material on this one. The U.S. government treats the food industry like just another manufacturing industry. Folks, you can make 100 alarm clocks in an hour on an assembly line, but when you try to translate that into processing meat and vegetables, you wind up in trouble. The U.S.D.A might not be perfect in its regulations, believe it or not. Hmmm...... It seems integrity, for guns or food, can't be regulated. People should be allowed to buy their food from whoever they choose. What about contamination you say? Buy from a proven producer of food if you don't want the risk. Guys who crank out a lousy product in a market completely free of government regulations would either step up quality, or go out of business real quick. Consumer economic incentives can really work wonders on quality control. You can fudge on your forms that you turn into the U.S.D.A inspector. You may not be cleaning things properly. But you give a direct consumer a dirty chicken, and there'll be hell to pay. Let people support or kill an alternative food system. The U.S. government needs to let people truly have freedom of choice.

Education:
Touchy subject. But I like using home school as an example of an "alternative" education system to public school. It took off and I know thousands of bright, well educated kids statewide who make this method of schooling work. But of course, let's not anger teacher unions who work in public schools and give the job of educating the child BACK to the parent. Remember, I warned you. Yes, I agree that parents can use some help teaching a child. K12 is an excellent example of this. I have my schoolwork laid out each day, but Mom AND Dad will talk over with me what I am learning and give me help in experiments and proofreading papers, etc. K12 provides excellent teaching material, and I have a very high quality education, mainly due to the one-on-one I have with my parents and teachers. God put the parents in the education role; not government funded schools. Did I mention: If kids were at home learning right from wrong in the first place, do you think we'd have as many sick minded murders using illegal guns on the loose?

Marriage/Child Birth:
OK, here's where what I said at the start comes in. This will be biased and I will include Holy Scripture. If we all followed God's commands, this would be a perfect world. But, we don't, and that's why His Son needed to die on a cross. As for abortions. God doesn't put a point blank rule forward on this one. However, I was as much Cade at conception as I am now, 15 years later. I don't care what others say. Abortion is the conscious killing of a human being. That's murder. God certainly offers forgiveness for this, but many abortions come about because people are sleeping around. I happen to know some teens who got pregnant and opted for abortion. It does impact lives. If people, teens more specifically, exercised restraint and saved "it" for marriage, many abortions would never even be considered. Now, marriage is for one man and one woman. Same sex marriages ought not to be legalized. Here's why:

"Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way, the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."

Romans 1:26-27

I am NOT sorry for this vent, and maybe, just maybe, a couple minds might be opened.
