Today being Remembrance Day,I would like to Thank all our soldiers past and present. My family tree is one I am so very proad of,both my grampas served in WW2,one for Canada, one for Great Britian, thankfully these wonderful men made it home,my Scottish gramma lost nine of her brothers in WW2,my mom served in the Air force in Scotland and worked on the air ambulance as a nurse. We still have the medals my fraternal grampa earned serving for Canada :).

At 11am I will observe the silence, and at 2.00 this afternoon join a number of people in our small town for a Remembrance Day service.

To all the soldiers that served and are serving for Canada,Great Britian and U.S.A I salute you.

sw's man and Caleb godspeed to you young men,we're proad of you :!:

Same here, my great grandfathers went to WWI, both of them came back. My great uncle wanted to get my great grandfather something nice, so he enlisted for a new pair of boots, and lost his life in the war, so he could do soemthing for his family, country, and give his father soemthing that he wanted but could not afford.

For thiose that gave their lives so that we may be doing as we please with our free will, a simpkle thanks is not good enough, so, God Bless, thanks for all you have done to make my living my life, and having the privelidge of having hopes of my own ranch when I grow up possible. So many people don't think of it, it sickens me deeply.

To all of those that are still out fighting for freedom, or in any other war, God speed, and may you arrive home to hug your family once more! :!:

You both said that very nicely. And I agree...we can't thank those who served and are serving nearly enough!!!

As our people are spread all over the world, we have a cyber memorial and independance day on our chat site (Armistice day memorials are illegal in Zimbabwe). Both grandfathers were wounded in WW1, dad served in the Royal Indian Navy, and met mom,a nurse, while recovering in an English Hospital. Our troops served with the British in Korea, and our SAS and African Rifles fought forthe British in Malaya.
Our own civil war resulted in high casualties fora small country,so we do the best we can to remember our own fallen, though in recent years, the Australians and New Zealanders allow our veterans to take part in their parades, a service is now held in London, but I am not sure if it part of the main parade, or if we still have to 'do our own thing'.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning..we will remember them.
Hamba Gaghle my brothers you will not be forgotten!
