GOP leadership wants McAllister gone, but he says no

By Bernie Becker

Rep. Vance McAllister (R-La.) said Tuesday that he would not resign from the House, despite pressure from GOP leadership.

McAllister, who has been embroiled in controversy since he was caught on video kissing a female staffer,
said that leaving the House would leave his district without a lawmaker for the second time in short order.

“I believe that I’m not going to leave my district voiceless again,” said McAllister, who was just elected in November to replace retiring Rep. Rodney Alexander (R).
McAllister, who is married with five children, announced on Monday that he would not seek re-election in November.

The congressman and a spokesman for Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) confirmed that Cantor told the Louisiana Republican he should resign in a Tuesday meeting.

Indictment: U.S. Rep. Grimm hid $1M in restaurant sales, wages

By Jason Hanna, Evan Perez and Shimon Prokupecz, CNN

updated 11:04 PM EDT, Mon April 28, 2014

(CNN) -- U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm failed to report more than $1 million in sales and wages at a Manhattan restaurant he once ran, using unreported cash to pay workers "off the books" to "evade taxes and keep more money for himself," a federal prosecutor said.

Grimm, R-New York, pleaded not guilty on Monday in federal court in Brooklyn to 20 counts, including mail fraud, wire fraud, filing false tax returns, hiring unauthorized aliens and perjury.

A former FBI agent who used to investigate fraud, Grimm wore a dark suit and was not handcuffed during the hearing.

He was released on $400,000 bond, secured by his home in Staten Island. As conditions for his release, Grimm, 44, must surrender his guns and passport.

He told reporters that he would remain in office while fighting the charges. He's up for re-election in November.

I've been waiting a few days for the hypocrite- Mr Fair and Balanced- to post these but darn he must have missed this news ...  :p

Lest ye forget- crook/immoral politicians can come in all sizes with both cults letters (R) or (D) behind their name....

I only follow, move in lockstep with, the Conservative cult, so these Liberals were not really of any concern.

If only a Borowitz report had been posted...I would have been alerted.

Maybe the old Imam's prayers for Dear Leader are working?

The thing is, the actions of the nitwits in Louisiana and New York didn't result in somebody's death, like the action or lack of action by Old Imam's Dear Leader and his Queen did in Benghazi.

this part was just plain funny..

hiring unauthorized aliens

as for the two politicians .. throw them out..

If the federal government does not recognize them as illegal or alien, why should anyone else?

How can the government fine a business for hiring them, when they themselves do not uphold and enforce a written law?
