Same out this'a way. Wind with a decent chance of wind. It rains 1/4 inch and blows away 1/2 inch. The joys of the desert. :D

The front just hit here about a 1/2 hour ago-- 50 mile an hour gusts- and then poured rain for a short time...Still coming down pretty good- but wind dropped down.....
But they say the high winds will follow the cold/storm front...

It is starting to blow here in Northern Dawson county. No wind in March to speach of, but according to my neighbor when the farmers started up their air seeders in April the wind has not stopped blowing.

Yeah, gonna hit here too. The NWS has issued a Red Flag Warning for the valley here.... low humidity, 20 to 30 mph winds and 40 to 45 mph gusts. Sounds like fun.

Yet another day in paradise  :

* Winds... sustained west winds of 35 to 50 mph are expected with
gusts around 65 mph... especially later this morning and this
afternoon. Locally higher gusts around 75 mph are possible
around the more wind prone areas.

Guess who lives in the "wind prone areas"???  On the bright side, the snow has pretty much melted, so it can't turn into a ground blizzard. More snow is on the way though.

I am thinking this wind is a result of the vacuum action created by the great pool of thinking minds to the East that have this country in a tail spin.

The winds hit here about 10 pm and increased during the night.
Blowing out of the SE now, but not too bad. We got some
rain as well. He's todays forecast:

WEST WINDS OF 30 TO 45 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 60 MPH WILL REDEVELOP BY MID MORNING.

* THE VERY STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS WILL CREATE DANGEROUS TRAVELING CONDITIONS FOR HIGH PROFILE AND LIGHTWEIGHT VEHICLES.

* WINDS THIS STRONG COULD DOWN POWER LINES AND TREES.

* WINDS WILL DECREASE BY EARLY EVENING.

Yep-- thats about how it was doing chores this morning...We've got sustained winds at 30- and gusting above 50---and raining...Those raindrops feel like bullets when they hit you...Don't know how much rain we have as I think half has missed the gauge--but about .7 is what got caught...

I see a little ways west of us (south of Malta) they are reporting sustained winds at 56 with gusts to 74.......

How windy was it? Well......
MARK HENCKEL, Gazette Outdoors Editor | Posted: Tuesday, May 4, 2010 5:29 pm

Whew! What a windy day it was across Montana. How windy was it? Well…..

The wind was so strong that leaping trout came back down without any spots.

The wind was so strong that the antler tines on deer and elk are now all pointing in the same direction.

The wind was so strong that you could see parts of Idaho blowing past windows in Wibaux.

The wind was so strong and waves pounded so much oxygen into lakes that fish were up on top gasping for less air.

The wind was so strong that hunters are still going to be finding mountain goats in the antelope herds this fall.

There was so much wind that you swore you were on stage at a political party rally.

The wind was so strong that a tent camper fell asleep on the shores of Flathead Lake and woke up next to Fort Peck.

The wind was so strong that Minnesota and Wisconsin are now calling themselves Big Sky Country.

And the wind was so strong that I couldn’t even go fishing – darnitalltoheck!

Hey folks-- there is hope...Went thru a whole day with NO WIND...10 mph at the most...It was another day of rain and snain-- but the sun peeked out for a few minutes...But cold... I think the highest I saw today was 37...

It does look like southern Montana, SD, WY could be in for another good one tho- with this new storm predicted to give some areas up to a foot of wet snow- and WIND...
