Subject: Charlie Daniels comments

An Open Letter To The Hollywood Bunch

Ok let's just say for a moment you bunch of pampered, overpaid, unrealistic children had your way and the U.S.A. didn't go into Iraq. Let's say that you really get your way and we destroy all our nuclear weapons and stick daisies in our gun barrels and sit around with some white wine and cheese and pat ourselves on the back, so proud of what we've done for world peace.

Let's say that we cut the military budget to just enough to keep the National Guard on hand to help out with floods and fires. Let's say that we close down our military bases all over the world and bring the troops home, increase our foreign aid and drop all the trade sanctions against everybody.

I suppose that in your fantasy world this would create a utopian world where everybody would live in peace. After all, the great monster, the United States of America, the cause of all the world's trouble would have disbanded it's horrible military and certainly all the other countries of the world would follow suit. After all, they only arm themselves to defend their countries from the mean old U.S.A. Why you bunch of pitiful, hypocritical, idiotic, spoiled mugwumps. get your head out of the sand and smell the Trade Towers burning. Do you think that a trip to Iraq by Sean Penn did anything but encourage a wanton murderer to think that the people of the U.S.A. didn't have the nerve or the guts to fight him?

Barbara Streisand's fanatical and hateful rankings about George Bush makes about as much sense as Michael Jackson hanging a baby over a railing. You people need to get out of Hollywood once in a while and get out into the real world. You'd be surprised at the hostility you would find out here. Stop in at a truck stop and tell an overworked, long distance truck driver that you don't think Saddam Hussein is doing anything wrong. Tell a farmer with a couple of sons in the military that you think the United States has no right to defend itself. Go down to Baxley, Georgia and hold an anti-war rally and see what the folks down there think about you. You people are some of the most disgusting examples of a waste of protoplasm I've ever had the displeasure to hear about. Sean Penn, you're a traitor to the United States of America. You gave aid and comfort to the enemy. How many American lives will your little, "fact finding trip" to Iraq cost? You encouraged Saddam to think that we didn't have the stomach for war. You people protect one of the most evil men on the face of this earth and won't lift a finger to save the life of an unborn baby. Freedom of choice you say?

Well, I'm going to exercise some freedom of choice of my own. If I see any of your names on a marquee, I'm going to boycott the movie. I will completely stop going to movies if I have to. In most cases it certainly wouldn't be much of a loss.

You scoff at our military who's boots you're not even worthy to shine. They go to battle and risk their lives so ingrates like you can live in luxury. The day of reckoning is coming when you will be faced with the undeniable truth that the war against Saddam Hussein is the war on terrorism. America is in imminent danger. You're either for her or against her. There is no middle ground.

I think we all know where you stand.

What do you think?

God Bless America

Jinglebob,

Thanks so very much for this post. I have a very strong attitude about this...and when the time comes these people get to reap what they have sown, everyone gets to pay. This applies to all the dems putting down our country and our President...they will reap what they have sown and we ALL will have to pay

Those of us in the majority need to speak up for ourselves.

You libs will never convince me to cross the line, so don't bother.

Since we're into country music icons:
(Entire article; my emphasis; link below)

"Tim McGraw and Faith Hill met with reporters to talk about their upcoming tour, but ended up venting their frustration with the cleanup efforts along the Gulf Coast in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Hill, who grew up in Jackson, Miss., and McGraw, a native of Delhi, La., have spent time in the devastated areas helping with relief efforts and raising money for victims.

When asked by reporters during Wednesday's round table about the government's slow progress, Hill, 38, said, "It's wrong. It's embarrassing. It really gets us fired up. That's our homeland."

McGraw blamed state and federal politics for hampering efforts to get adequate shelter, food and supplies to victims.

The 38-year-old country singer also criticized President Bush, who visited the devastated Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans on Wednesday.

"There's no reason why someone can't go down there - who's supposed to be the leader of the free world - and say, `I'm giving you a job to do and I'm not leaving here until it's done. And you're held accountable,'" he said.

Later in the news conference, McGraw let out a stream of frustration, growling, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore."

The couple were married in 1996.

When asked what their fans could do to help, McGraw said: "Vote."

The Associated Press obtained a recording of the round table, which was held for radio media to promote their upcoming "Soul2Soul II" tour.

Earlier in the day, the Academy of Country Music announced Hill and McGraw's nomination for vocal event of the year for their duet "Like We Never Loved at All."

Good idea there, Mr McGraw. Lets all bitch and whine to get the feds to come in and fix what was our job to take care of in the first place.

I agree, we should vote and get rid of the bums who are on the local level, who pocket any money they can and don't help improve existing situations. New Orleans is notorius for graft and politicions who talk a good talk, but don't really help solve any problems.

When a blizzard comes throught this part of the country, we fix our own problems and have learned how to minimise the damage from them. If someone wants to live in a fish bowl next to a large body of water, why should the rest of us pay so that they can be wiped out again? If you don't want to be inundated by water, move away from there. I'd be happy to help pay the cost of the move, through my tax dollars.

My nephew was down there and tried to help with the clean up. It was such a mess with nothing but liars and people lining their pockets, that they caused the people who came to help, to leave, before they took everything these peole brought along to help them. I'm sure there are good people who were trying to do a good job, but there are more who are ruled by greed.

President Bush didn't cause the storm and he did go down, but prefered to leave the mess in the hands of those who were appointed to do the job. That is their job. It's not his fault if local comntrol is in such a sorry mess.

"The Lord helps those who help themselves."

where do I vote for JingleBob as President?????

Sorry, I wasn't born in this country, so I can't be President. Even if I did come when I was a little less than 11 months old.

Besides, I'm sure that there would be more to vote against me than for me. I can get a little radical, you know.

And I would hate the job, so wouldn't run if I was asked. :)

Politics is such a dirty business! I don't want any part of it. I don't work well with commities and such. I'd make Jesse Ventura look like the best politicion we ever had in this country!

If they really found a people eating machine in Iraq (just heard a little about that on the news some time ago) they should have put it on display in front of the United Nations building in NYC. That would have done more to the corrupt leaders in the world than anything else. I don't know why they didn't do that.

I've always wondered if he was also addressing this to people like Ted Nugent, Marie Osmond, Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson, Kelsey Grammar, Shannon Doherty, etc, etc.
Not to mention, himself.

Are those celebrities living in a "fantasy", "utopian world", too? :???:

Or is he advocating a double standard?

So JB, Where did you come from?? Do you mind telling us???

I came from a woman who didn't have me aborted and I feel I was pretty lucky. She didn't have a man to support her, so whenever she had us kids(there were 5 of us born to those two people) the goverment stepped in, I guess, and put us in an orphanage. 3 of us siblings were adopted to my folks. To me, they are my real father and mother as it takes more than making a baby to be real parents. The funny thing about it is, I am soooo much like my dad, that it drives me and my wife crazy. Enviroment must mean more than blood lines!

Oh, what country? Switzerland. Came over here when I was 10 and 1/2 months old. Or so they tell me. I don't really remember it.

By the way, I have a piece of paper that say's I'm a citizen of the United States of America. Any one else out there got one?

From some of the things I read here, looks like they ought to take some of these people papers away. :x

Did Rapid City, South Dakota get any federal money when it had it's big flood a few years back-most people are dead set against aid, subsidies etc till it is their turn then it's not such a bad deal. Nobody wants to spend money on a hospital till their sick or education tax till once their kids are done school. I'm pretty sure South Dakota has done pretty well at the federal government trough over the years. No different than any state applying for drought relief you could always use the argument 'If your stupid enough to raise cows where it don't rain they deserve to starve'.
