Lewis & Clark and the Air Rifle

Besides being very interesting and informative for history, there is a message here for the country today. This same technique was used in the cold war as well as other times. This lesson seems lost on the present fools in Washington. ! ! !

This compressed air gun was invented by an Italian named Giardone.
It was amazing at its time, and even now, for the power, accuracy and how many shots it could fire.

I THINK YOU WILL FIND THIS VIDEO VERY INTERESTING. I DID NOT KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THIS RIFLE WAS TO LEWIS & CLARK, BUT THE TECHNOLOGY SURPRISES ME FOR THE ERA IT WAS USED IN.
O.K. How many of you very knowledgeable folks out there even knew that a rifle like this even existed, especially back then? Seriously, I would like to know, because I sure didn't. A must watch.

46 cal. That really was quite a pea shooter wasn't it? I had read before that they had an air rifle they were trying out. I didn't suppose it was very effective. I wonder why it didn't take a hold. Manufactures of gunpowder maybe?
