Liberal headlines: Obama saves Automakers

President Obama: "On the day I took office, our auto industry was on the verge of collapse. Some even said we should let it die. With a million jobs at stake, I refused to let that happen. In exchange for help, we demanded responsibility. We got workers and automakers to settle their differences. We got the industry to retool and restructure. Today, General Motors is back on top as the world's No. 1 automaker. Chrysler has grown faster in the U.S. than any major car company. Ford is investing billions in U.S. plants and factories. And together, the entire industry added nearly 160,000 jobs. We bet on American workers. We bet on American ingenuity. And tonight, the American auto industry is back." -- Jan. 24 State of the Union speech.

The facts: Lost in Obama's victory lap was the fact that Bush passed him the baton.
Pushing against a reluctant Congress, Bush steered $17.4 billion in emergency loans to GM and Chrysler in his final weeks in office, on condition they shrink debt, negotiate wage and benefit cuts with workers and submit plans to achieve "long-term viability, international competitiveness and energy efficiency."

The new Obama administration followed with more than $60 billion in aid, more expansive requirements and hands-on management of the crisis.

With hundreds of thousands of jobs at stake, ideology took a back seat. "Sometimes circumstances get in the way of philosophy," Bush said in a speech this month. "I didn't want there to be 21 percent unemployment."

Steven Rattner, who led Obama's auto task force, credited Bush with giving his team "a little breathing room" to restructure the companies and for providing a framework of "expected sacrifices that paved the way for our demands for give-ups from the stakeholders."

Obama's account of the automakers' recovery is true enough but skips key points.
For one, "we" had nothing to do with Ford, which declined a bailout and climbed back on its own. Second, viewers of the speech might not know that Chrysler is an Italian-owned company now.

Obama frequently invokes the unspecified "some" who thought the industry "should die" in what is a veiled swipe at Republicans who oppose the bailout, Romney prominently among them. But like the other GOP candidates, Romney never expressed a death wish for the auto industry. Nor did Republican congressional leaders.

At most, some were willing to take that risk by having automakers try to restructure in bankruptcy without a bailout. It's a course few believed would work in 2008. But bankruptcy is intended as a second chance, not an execution. It's the path Obama followed, though with massive federal aid that sweetened the odds.

Liberal Headlines: Obama increases Domestic Oil Production

The vast majority of America’s new oil and gas production is happening on private lands in states like North Dakota, Alaska and Texas.

It’s not that Obama is devoid of responsibility. His administration oversees oil and gas production on federal lands by issuing leases. But when measuring oil and gas production in areas under Obama’s jurisdiction, the numbers tell a different story.

Citing publicly available federal data, the House Natural Resources Committee noted these figures:
•Oil and natural gas production on federal lands is down by more than 40 percent compared to 10 years ago.
•Under the Obama administration, 2010 had the lowest number of onshore leases issued since 1984.
•The Obama administration held only one offshore lease sale in 2011.

Despite the Obama administration’s restrictive policies for oil and gas production on federal lands, overall production still increased thanks to the pro-energy policies in states like North Dakota.

Now according to Obama in his own defense and high gas prices he says, HIS improvements are going to take a decade or so to show results, SO how can he lay claim to any improvements showing up NOW? Would they not be due to policies Bush implemented BEFORE OBAMA TOOK OFFICE? :?

Liberal Headlines: Obama Kills Osama Bin Laden

Panetta and Clinton bypassed Obama and Jarrett and used intelligence collected from systems set up by the Bush Administration to track Osama and therefore giving them the opportuniy to take him out while Obama played GOLF.

Liberal Headlines: Obama Administrations greatest accomplisment is ending the Iraq war.

President Barack Obama told disabled veterans in Atlanta on Monday that he was fulfilling a campaign promise by ending U.S. combat operations in Iraq “on schedule,” by Aug. 31.

But the timetable for withdrawing U.S. troops in Iraq was decided during the Bush administration with the signing of the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) by U.S. and Iraq officials on Nov. 16, 2008. The Iraqi parliament signed SOFA on Nov. 27, 2008.

The agreement, which had been in negotiations since 2007, set a timetable calling for most U.S. troops to leave Iraqi towns and cities by June 30, 2009, with about 50,000 troops left in place until the final withdrawal of all U.S. military forces by Dec. 31, 2011.

Liberal Headlines: Obamacare one big F-ing deal says Biden

Thousands of waivers handed out to Obama supporters, Insurance Premiums skyrocketing, Religious Beliefs (those of Biden himself) being VIOLATED, Billions of dollars of tax hikes hidden in the bill, Rationing of care to elderly to pay for millions more to be put on rationed care. And a majority of voter want it REPEALED

Liberal Headlines: Obama uses more drones than Bush

Facts he has used at least one of those drones on a US citizen without benefit of a trial. If Bush had done that he would have been impeached and tried for war crimes. Seems Waterboarding a foreign terrorist that killed thousands of US citizens is far worse than drone attacking and killing a US citizen turned terrorist to the liberals  . BTW just how much intellegence is being collected from Obama's drone attack victims compared to those waterboarded by Bush, that lead to Osama being found and killed so Obama could take credit. :x

Obama's victory laps  be proud Liberals He is qutie the legend
