Tonight they had their FFA/Sports Banquet. She got a whole bunch of awards, the main one she's so proud of is the Star Greenhand award. She also got the High Sales Award which is the Rodeo Bag from Justin Boots.
Here is a pic of her with all her loot. LOL

Tikes, thats a lot!

The most I ever won was two years ago at the Regional fair I won my heifer's class (Angus Heifers Born Before March 1) And then I won breed, and I ended up with a nice plaque, a red ribbion and a purple one, $75.00 and a lot of congrats and high fives, along with offers up to $8000 to buy my heifer from me-I diddn't sell. And I made some new friends, and got experience.

But in sports, my team usually sucked, except for my hockey team, bu thtat never counted cause we dont go to tournaments. lol.

She's got the T-Shirt............."Got my horse, Got my dog.........DON'T need no cowboy"

And no I didn't pick it out....she picked it out herself.

When we went to A & M the other day, the man vet that was workin with a group of students and talkin to her, said, "Oh, I bet you have a boyfriend" to which Lil Lilly replied, "Nope I don't either, n don't want one, got more important things to do" And of course I'm standin there....thinkin to myself.....YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

I honestly don't know how she keeps so focus'd on her horses, cattle, and ag projects for FFA and 4H, but I"m sure glad it's workin out that way. I'm not ready to have boys knockin on the door either.
Oh, and by the way, Mr Lilly swears she aint datin till she's at least 30 hehe

Congratulation to Lil Lilly and the family of Lil Lilly, as I think the whole family gets real involved in this little gals activities. (As it should be...)

How about your son, Jersey Lilly. Let us see some of his accomplishments.
Or am I wrong in thinking you have a boy as well as Little Lilly?

Yes we do have a son, he's fixin to turn 20 in July. So his accomplishments aren't as visible as hers. When he was in school I didnt have a digital camera, but he played baseball. He's in a few pictures here and there that I post, usually when we work cows. He's on summer break from college right now. He's more into computers and gardening. He's got it all goin fairly good, other than "my peas" he's not too fond of them so I had to plant those...got those in a few days ago....but maters, okra, squash, corn, peppers and such are up and goin good. He's got the green thumb around here, does most of the lawn mowin, and weed eatin.

The cows really aren't his thang. He helps when we need it, but not his idea of fun. Which I understand, the cow business aint for everyone, ya gotta like it, to wanna do it. He will come out with me when I have fence to patch, or what not, he doesn't mind doin that kinda thing.

All in all he's a real layed back, kinda quiet kid. Studyin to either be a computer teacher, or graphic design.

That's one thing that's really good about 4H and FFA projects. If you do a record book for your animals, it requires photos of the kid doin the work.

The ag mechanics projects and commercial pen of heifers has a required record book. Pictures of the kid doin the work , a break down of costs, and a story about what you learned while doin it. Then they have an interview with the judge that counts as points as well. The kids that enter these catagories really gotta know their stuff when it comes interview time. Last year a bunch of the kids wouldn't even get in the pens with their heifers to feed them and clean up around the pen. They were skeered of the animals. Which just proved they didnt do the work. None of their books had pictures of them doin anything, just had pictures of thier animals. Lil Lilly palpated, did the vaccinating, any doctoring, and fed them herself. She placed 6th. She was a lil disappointed knowing the others didnt do the work. couple of the kids admitted to having "Jose" feed their animals. But I explained to her, it's not how you place, it's what you learned while doin it. Come sale day her heifers brought the same money as the Grand Pen. So her work paid off real well for her.
