Hi Nicky, thanks for asking, I haven't really updated anything because he's still kinda at the same level of alertness??? but not concious yet. It's kinda hard to explain. He responds to voice commands...like squeeze my hand, or wiggle your fingers and toes. They are doin 3 hours physical therapy in the mornings and three again in the afternoons. So when he is back to his room, and can have visitors, alot of the time he's tired from the sessions, and he sleeps.
Mother in Law went to Austin Saturday, and she said they were doin some blood work. And when the nurses went to draw blood he faught them. Guess that's a good sign lol. He's been there 2 weeks now. But his wife met a mom next door, that her son is in there, same type injuries, from our area. They've kinda bonded, because of all that. Her son has been there 7 weeks and is already eating, drinking, walkin talkin and even swimming on his own. His dr's gave him a "vegetable diagnosis" at first too. So there is hope. He's steadily improving, it's just so slow sometimes it's hard to see physically when you go into his room. (if that makes sense) Gotta heal the inside before the outside comes around.
We kinda only get weekly reports now, unless something major happens. His wife calls every evening and talks to his nurses, and they put the phone up to his ear and let her talk to him. But she only goes and stays on the weekends because she's gone back to work.
I haven't went to Austin yet, Mr Lilly and his dad have gone a couple times. Along with his mom. But I've stayed here to "man the fort" you might say. I did talk to him on the phone one day when Mr Lilly went, and they said he wiggled a whole bunch while I talked to him LOL
So over all things are looking good, there's still been a few setbacks here and there but they are minor, and to be expected they say. Just takes lots of time and patience. And Prayers.
