I hope you get wet Haymaker-- and the green grass is growing everywhere.....

I'm sitting up here in beautiful calving weather-- but the calves aren't coming yet...Getting impatient just like an expectant father...The partner cows could come any day (12th is magic day)- my own aren't supposed to start until the 17th-- but nothing yet...A whole lot of mommas looking like they could pop any second....

They are missing some perfect weather- temp is 65 degrees with a breeze blowing taking the last of the snow and drying up the mud- supposed to get above 70 tomorrow... :D

The old girls must be waiting for a snowstorm

WE are suppossed to get up into the 60's for MOnday and Tuesday.. Been in the 50's last two days and dry.. Been great... T-shirt weather, AC running in the tractor feeding yesterday afternoon....Spring is springing but next weekend is supposed to drop into the 40's again.. Oh well, Everyday brings us closer to April right?

 Yep-anyway he thinks he is...He went with me on the 4 wheeler to check the partnership cows a couple times yesterday- and was pretty disappointed that there were no new ones....

Then he decided to go play in the snow in a ditch that runs thru the hay meadow-- he was having a ball until he broke thru the snow and ended up waist deep in water... Was kind of a cold ride home on the 4 wheeler and we had to get him dryed off and hide the evidence (wet boots and britches) before Grandma got home and got mad at both of us....

And it looks like I spoke too soon- I went over to check the west cows and and there are 2 new ones born since noon....Officially I'm calving...And the weather boys new 15 day forecast is saying high temps- in the 40's to 60's- lows in the 20's to 40's with little precip...

Must be building up for an April blizzard....

Ya know....we are still cleanin up and repairin from all the water we had a good while back...but I noticed yesterday while in and outta the truck...that the ground is crackin already...Amazes me how fast it can dry up. We were talkin as we rode thru the pasture, that we could use a lil rain...sure hope your right Haymaker and we get some of that.

Seen on the news where all the rescues were happenin in San Antonio....did you git a bunch more rain today too?

Hopefully the worst of it will stay to the south of us...least that's what it looks like on radar....Not wishin floodin on anyone really, and Houston sure can't deal with much water at all. All that asphalt and concrete. It's still rainin steady here, no sign on it lettin up.

LOL I made mention of cracks in the ground...well those are gone..we are back to mud again. Wearin rubber muck boots etc.
