Long Rodeo Weekend

Took five roughies on a long trip just north of U'S border and hit four one day HighSchool rodeos. Ty switched riding hands in bareback and won three rodeos in a row. He won both days of bareback in Estevan and one day of the saddle bronc. He was sitting in the stands watching his friend pole bending when they announced he won the High Point too-so he's pretty pumped. Just missed winning both days of saddle bronc in Weyburn he got bucked off at 7+ seconds on two straight 19 points horses. He's finally starting to really spur horses hard-the day he won the broncs in Estevan the judges marked him 5 points over his horse. Ty and I put on alot of miles and he bucked off alot of stock startng out so nice to see him finish a few horses.

Sometimes you can get alittle too far to the front-he managed to get a foot caught under the halter and tip himself off to the side-he lifted on his rigging and got squared up next jump.

Nothing like pretty girls and puppies to make a couple roughies forget their aches and pains. The boys slept under that boat that was parked at the rodeo grounds-there was a real wind and rain storm but they built a rigging bag barricade. I upgraded my lodgings to the backseat of the crewcab lol.

Hope you had a safe trip home. I sure didn't envy you with that drive. :)

That is one cute pup you picked up. Hope the boys caught up with you after i got them pointed in the right direction. :D

Did the horses ride and unload OK?

Yes those geldings travelled well-we peeled out ahead like that to get them moving in case they got fighting but they were good. Ty's itching to get working with them-they'll be here on Friday-I got a couple hours sleep last night so I'm good to go. I wish we'd of brought more pups up with us-maybe we can get some at Wood Mountain.

He might hit some LRA shows later-he's P'O'ed that he can't get his Novice Pro permit till next year. Does anybody recognize the pickup man in that one pic.You feel pretty safe as a Dad when that guy is taking care of your kids in the arena.
