A local kid was late for work at 6 am this morning, and totally lost control. It must have been quite the ride down into the creek. He drove over a bunch of really big rocks, and over a four foot drop before he even hit the water!

If he'd have gone into the skid fifty feet later, he'd have rolled off the side of the bridge. That would have been very very bad. For that matter, if he had done it three weeks ago, he'd have drowned! The creek was about 8 feet deep at that time, and moving fast.

He was wearing a seatbelt, and didn't get a scratch on him. 8) Sure hope he has learned something from this.

And drunks...

I've seen drunks pull stunts that would have killed anyone else and walk away unphased.....

Few years back I was called to the hospital...Bunch of fellows were partying and decided to load up the pickup and go to the lake...Several were riding in the back of the pickup- one was sitting on a folding chair and fell out head first on the highway while they were doing 70mph... Witness's said he landed on the top of his head and bounced down the highway...Not waiting for EMT's his drunk buddies thru him in the back of the pickup and hauled him to the ER  ....

Doc walked out of the ER and I asked how he was- He said "Dead" paused awhile and then said "Dead Drunk, If he'd have been sober it would have broke every bone in his body- but except for a few scrapes and bruises, nothings wrong with him!!!"

We have a neighbor who lost two boys in two seperate accidents about a year apart when they missed a turn and went slidding into a ditch. Yes, tneenage boys, fast cars and alcohol was involved in both. In both cases if they people in the car had been sober they probably could have walked away...

Oldtimer, you're completely right about drunks.........but really, they come under the heading of fools, as far as I'm concerned. Anyone who drives drunk just doesn't have much smarts about them........

Awesome story, though. Ain't it amazing, how things like that happen? And they live to tell about it?!
