Also got some thunderstorms movin in off the gulf as we speak......need the rain, but this is a bad time....Last Saturday of a 12 week Barrel Race Series is tonight. Lil Lilly is sittin in 2nd place. If it rains out, they don't make it up. But that's ok. 2nds a good spot. She'll get a new headstall and breast collar outta the deal.

Denny- still got about 100 acres of nice alfalfa swathed down left to bale...Hopefully the partner can start in after midnite and put a big dent in it before it gets too hot...I've been hauling and stacking right behind the baler and am caught up to it now--

BUT

I'd gladly take 2 or 3 inches even with all the hay down-- but it isn't looking promising as they're predicting 95-100 thru about Wed- then another cool front that might bring us something.....

Hopefully that Himmicane will work its way north later in the week......

I got a bunch raked up but the dew set in about 7 tonight the dews are so heavy right now they dont burn of till noon or later no night baleing in this country. We have about a 1000 bales out in fields yet we have another 100 acres to cut and bale than I think I am done.I have cut an extra 200 acre's so far this year and am still short on hay ours is very thin this year. Most fields are yielding 1/2 of normal at about 1200#s per acre.

WE got 2.25 inches between yesterday and this morning... And it rained a lot since the last time I checked.. Bet another inch isn't out of the question.. Some neighbors are scremaing about getting their hay up but they will get over it eventually. Amazing what this late sumemr rain is doing for grass growth.. We are probably approaching 10-12 inches since middle of July I think I stopped keeping trac.. We had a 10 day span there that was allowing the fields to dry out, as in only a tenth or so of rain, but no we look like we are in a patern again.. Maybe a tropical depresion formed in the Mississippi River or something  Hope those that need it more than I do start getting it soon.
