Lost a good one

I'm guessing some of you in the SD, WY, NE areas may know, or know of, T.R. Stalley.

He died yesterday of a heart attack at his home in Riverton, WY.

He grew up in the Midland, SD area, where his dad worked on the W.A. Hickman ranches. He rodeoed in SDRA for a few years, was a Vietnam Vet, married Patty Foster, of Valentine, NE and moved to WY where he worked in the oil fields and rodeoed a few years. He has four grown kids, and one little grandson. I believe he was 61 last September.

He was my cousin, our mothers being sisters, and the five kids in my family and six in his spent lots of time together. I liked him better after we grew up when he no longer was just another annoying little brother!

Sure a tough loss for his wife and kids, as well as we cousins and his siblings!

Sorry to hear that, mrj. I didn't know your cousin, but his wife Patty (Foster) was in Cherry County 4-H when I was a kid. You all have my condolences.

Sorry to hear this. Was going to a few rodeos at the same time he was going. Sure is another empty hole, but good memories.

Thanks for the kind words.

Pretty tough to take right at Christmas, but good cowboys surely go to good places when their heart is right!

We leave for RC soon and will head for Riverton early tomorrow and stay a few days, I'm sure, as TR's siblings will all be there and one sis, Beverly McNeese, is going with us.

We appreciate having family at home so we can leave the ranch for a few days to do this.

TR and most of his siblings were here last summer for our 50th Anniv. celebration. We all complained that we should do fun things like that more often instead of waiting till a funeral forces it.
