I hauled the canoes up for Megan's Outdoor Ed.-they're going on a 30 mile canoe trip this weekend. Here they are staging and packing.

MY sdchool did a trip up to Quetico when I was a sophmore for a week long canoe trip.. Well, just the Freshmen and Sphmores so it was about 60 kids broken up into 4 or 5 groups... It was fun... And cold, lol.. I got invited bask after graduation so I could be a chaperone but couldn't do it because classes were starting at the University that week or something like that.. And yes, lots of sore kids (But not as sore as I was the next year when I sea kayaked up in Alaska).. Hope the kids have a good time, should leave some good memories in their noggins...

Yeah they had a great time-Megan's bf caught a fifteen pound jackfish so they had a good fish fry-saw a bear swim the river just up from camp too. I had quite a day today-saw elk, moose.mule deer, whitetails and some antelope in my travels.

That's quite a combination of game, NR. You usually don't see antelope with all the rest of the list unless you were on quite a road trip! Glad the kids had a good time, and I'm only medium jealous that I never got to do anything like that back in my school days.....

Ohh I was being a good Dad and went and picked up Ty's Gf and her sister so they could come up to our rodeo-I saw the antelope when we were taking them home on Sunday afternoon. There are antelope only 1 1/2 hrs south of me so they are creeping a bit north. The south is just getting lousy with moose too. Outdoor Ed was alot of fun even back in my day.

I am glad to see the moose are doing well somwhere, they are disapearing here in northern MN. The biologists can not figure it out....imagine that? Did Ty score a blackie? Shawn

He might put the whack on a big colour phase cinnamon tonight-he's been too busy to hunt much lately. There's some VERY nice whitetail bucks out there already-can't wait for that to arrive.

Talk about animals movin in....we were at the BIL's the other day, about eight miles Southwest of our place...we seen HERDS of antilope, used to only see the odd one. Kind of like the moose, they moved in about 12 years ago now theres a season on them. Next will be bears.

He passed on him-wasn't quite big enough but he did climb up within two feet of him to check things out-pretty bear but he can grow some more lol.
A true sportsman, he just scored more points with me. The next step would be to get an ear tag in him so you can keep track of how much he grows :D lol Later shawn

He got some pretty good pictures on his camera phone not sure if I can download them. This is the same kid who used to cuss his Dad out for passing up buck after buck during whitetail season lol.
