Interestingly- in checking the latest polling by all the polling groups - and especially by Rasmussen poll of actual voters this week- in a head to head contest against Obama-Obama wins in all polls- but Paul comes out the closest of the candidates to being able to beat Obama ...

Last week the Maine Republican Party declared Mitt Romney the winner even though Washington County was unable to hold its caucus due to snow. A firestorm quickly erupted, engulfing Maine Republican chairman Charlie Webster with Waldo County demanding his censure.

Insult to presumed injury, Webster also said he would be not including the results from today's caucus in the final totaling of votes.

Then he said the Maine GOP executive committee would meet and decide three weeks from now on March 10, which is after Super Tuesday March 6, to announce whether the totals from Washington County would be allowed.

However, today Webster relented and released the results to the media a short time ago. Webster had angered Paul supporters who saw Washington County as their chance to topple Romney and have insisted the results be recorded. Webster in turn called Ron Paul supporters "conspiracy theorists."

In all fairness, it is hard not to be a bit paranoid when votes were never recorded from 12 towns in Waldo County on the night of the original caucuses or there is talk about not including votes from Washington County in the official results.

The state GOP says a new vote total for the Maine caucuses that tackles all outstanding issues will be announced in March,

"All Republicans are keenly aware of the intense interest in the results of the Maine Republican Party Presidential Preference Poll," said Mr. Webster in a statement.

Translation: We're getting hammered because we declared Mitt Romney the caucus poll winner, despite the fact that the vote was incomplete – Washington County canceled due to weather. Oh, and those zeroes entered next to towns that did caucus in the vote totals? We're looking into it. Sorry.

They said the snow storm was so bad that the Girl Scouts never canceled their planned event but yet the Caucus was canceled. :roll: Something was stinking in Maine and I think the Republican establishment have some explaining to do after this. The Voters are to pick their candidate not the power boys of the party. :x

I think many republican voters are starting to question how honest the caucus process is and how easily it is manipulated..

so far we have seem problems in Iowa, Nevada and Maine.. and when you add in that by the parties own rules Florida was required to be proportioned and not winner take all.. it not only raises questions.. but a real suspicion that the process is broken.. and the higher ups like it broken..

I never could understand how McCain won... now I do...
