Madoff Scheme and Obama Citizenship Similarities

Today I watched this video on the Madoff hearing at:
http://www.c-span.org/Watch/watch.aspx?MediaId=HP-A-15082

It’s enlightening as it showed how the government agencies didn’t do their jobs, instead turned away whistle blowers to protect the wrong-doers. I found at least four striking similarities between the Madoff investigation and the eligibility case.

1. Harry Markopolos, the accountant who years ago alerted the government to the largest Ponzi scheme of all time, was only to be told, “Thanks very much. Now go away, you silly crank.” --- The people at the grassroots challenging the eligibility of Obama to be the president were also told to go away and were called right-wing nuts.

2. It only took him a few hours to see it was a ponzi scheme and he pointed out the “emperor had no clothes on”, yet the SEC wouldn’t want to touch the big guy on the Wall Street.--- It’s not hard to find Obama’s eligibility blatantly questionable, yet all our elected officials are cowardly enough to accept the birth certificate on the Internet rather than to be the first to seek the truth about The One.

3. Markopolos prepared all the analysis, modeling and data and submitted them to the SEC, thinking they should at least take a look at them, yet they refused to investigate and ignored him year after year.--- Numerous well-prepared lawsuits regarding Obama’s eligibility were filed with the courts but they were rejected one by one, never given a chance to be heard.

4. According to Markopolos, the SEC officials were totally incompetent and failed to understand the complexity of financial operation. --- Our Congressmen’s lack of knowledge of the vetting process, of the Constitutional requirement for U.S. presidency and of the definition of the “natural born citizen” was staggering based on their responses listed in the Hall of Shame.

We really need people like Mr.Markopolos to speak out. And his experience will tell you it is no easy job when the big government agencies are against you. He feared for his life too.

I really admire Mr. Markopolos’ courage and perseverance during all these years, yet it saddens to hear he say “People think I’m a hero, but I didn’t stop him. He stopped himself,” because this shows how corrupt our system has become. The entire regulatory agency would have allowed the Madoff scheme to go on if Madoff hadn't stopped by himself. It seems that we may have to wait till Obama to make a fatal mistake to get himself caught. In the Madoff case, he was arrested only after the damage was done. Let's hope this would not be the fifth similarity between the two cases.
