This scroll saw cutting of a bull fighter was made by my dad and donated to the Make a Wish Foundation. It is 11*14. It will be auctioned off at the Northern Professional Bull Riders Finals in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Sept. 30th. Thought I'd let ya know just incase you happen to be heading that way.

Very nice Charlie. Good cause too. You've got $40 here and I'll pay the freight. It's not much but at least you have a floor. Any other bidders?

God bless your dad for doing his part in making the wishes of terminally ill children come true!!!! I have had a personal experience with the make a wish foundation and I simply hold them in highest regard!!! Hope it fetches a pretty penny......or two!!! :D :D :D

I'm glad you like it. This one is my copy. He cuts them 3 at a time. I almost cried when he told me what he was doing with one of the other two. I have always thought Make a Wish was a great cause and I'm glad that the rodeo world helps support it by holding these auctions and inviting children out to the finals.

That's just awesome!!!!!!!!! How many hours actually go into a piece like that? And is the cut-out the black part? It looks like it, but I'm not sure.........

Hey, that would look great with one of my dad's barnwood frames on it! See how perdy they are?

Well, I am going to withdraw my bid. That idea doesn't seem to garnish any attention. Lets do this another way.
I really think the make a wish foundation is a stand-up organization. It crosses all politics, religion, etc. I am proud of Charlies dad for making an effort to raise money for MAW. I think we should do something as an organization for the good of someone. Here's the plan.
I'm still giving my $40 bucks but I want to raise more money than that. Every single one of us can spare something if it's no more than a dollar.
If you are willing to support the Make A Wish foundation and help fulfill a dream for some child with a life threatening disease, post your screen name here and send the check to Charlie. She promised me she would keep our identity a secret. If you post you screen name , she'll pm you her address so you can mail the check. The cutoff time is Sept. 23 for mailing the checks so she'll have them in time to deliver them on the 30th. I asked her to take the total dollars of the check and bid to that amount on the scoll saw cutting her dad made. If we are the winning bidder, she buys the cutting in the name of ranchers.net members . She then turns around and gives the cutting back to resell to the highest bidder. If we don't raise enough money to be the high bidder, she just donates the money to make a wish. Make the checks payable to make a wish foundation and send it on to her. I think we certainly waste enough time goofing off on here. Lets do something constructive.
Here's a link to the organizations website. I think it'd be best to make our donation amounts anonymous on here. No one has to give more than they can afford. $1 , $5, $50, $500, give as you see fit.

Edit: If you don't want Charlie knowing your name and address, send a money order and no return address with a note stating it is from your screen name.

Thanks R2. You're a pretty good girl if you'd stay off of the political bull board. Starting now though lets make the amounts confidential, that way someone would be comfortable donating $500 and not look like they are showing off or if someone got a light bill the size of mine , they might just want to give a dollar. No problem either way.
