President Obama quite succinctly summed up the absurdity of the Republicans' issues with his immigration reform in Chicago yesterday, arguing that perhaps the only people who can legitimately be pissed off about illegal immigrants are Native Americans.

Returning to his hometown to speak, the president tried to place his recent executive action, which saved five million immigrants from deportation, within a great American tradition of welcoming foreigners.

"If you look at the history of immigration in this country, each successive wave there have been periods where the folks who were already here have said, 'Well I don't want those folks,'" he said. "Even though the only people who have the right to say that are some Native Americans."

His orders were sufficient in upsetting the GOP, but he also faced criticism from immigration activists who feel they do not go far enough.

Hecklers shouted "Not one more!" and "Stop deportations!" and "There is no justice!" during the speech, to which he replied at one point: "It doesn’t make much sense to yell at me right now."

In fact, Indians could make a good case of why immigrants shouldn't be able to pour across the border at will....................

The problem is...the Native Americans didn't build that....someone else did.....

Sitting Bull himself built those Tee Pee Rings that are laying in OT's pasture.

The President also exposed much more of his true intentions in his interchange with the woman who was standing behind him holding the sign that said, "Obama - not one more deportation". In the course of defending himself, he actually admitted that he had "changed the law."

That was the first time that he admitted it. He has always previously weasel-worded what he had done but carefully advoided admitting that he had actually changed a law.

I don't suppose anything will come of his admission, but it ought to.

Careful, Tom.....the Fatman will be putting together a "packet" on you if you're not careful.

Bet your bottom dollar he's here lurking as a guest or using another ID.

Noones supposed to be p issed of about the imported drugs, cartels and gangs all across the country?

I almost wonder if all of the Michael Brown chaos was allowed to ensue, and even be provoked, to get Buckwheat's unilateral illegal action off the front page.

BUT WHAT YOU ARE NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO IS THE FACT THAT I JUST TOOK AN ACTION TO CHANGE THE LAW.

Everyone is an immigrant to some degree.

immigrant: a person who migrates to another country, usually for permanent residence.

a person who comes to a country in order to settle there

The argument that everyone is an immigrant to some degree is often used and honestly, it tires me. It's quite clear, if you were born in the US you cannot be an immigrant to the US.

EXACTLY! I'm also tired of blacks wanting reparations for slavery. I never owned any slaves, nor my parents, grandparents, or great grandparents. And as far as "white privilege" goes, WTF??

And, of course, not one of them asking for reparations was ever a slave himself.

Send 'em all to Liberia for a year or so. It would be intersting upon their return (assuming they survive) to hear their views of having to endure the hardships of the United States.
