Well now that's just pretty cool! Those nesting boxes should outlast quite a few crops of hens- you just may find it necessary to move them again before they're worn out. :lol: :lol:

What kind of hen is that cluck and what are the chicks? She looks like she means business. And you must be more of a cattleman than poultry man if you think that hen was missing for only two weeks . . . . haha.

I bet she's a Banty I had one hatch some in my shop under the bench. She was pretty serious about her job.

The lady I got her from says she's a Leghorn/Auracana cross - who knows for sure? She's a heckuva Momma, that's all I know.

She was missing for a while if you do the math - 13 chicks means 13 eggs minimum, and at 1 egg/day that's 13 days for sure, maybe more, plus a day or 2 of hatching, who knows. Kids have been having fun watching them get big.
