Mark Levin explained on his show tonight that in the midst of all the hubbub about Jeff Sessions today, that there’s a scandal right there and black and white that everyone is missing:

This is crucially important. Everybody’s missing the point. The incredible scandal here is the Obama administration was investigating top officials in the Trump campaign, maybe even Trump himself during the course of the election!

Listen to this from the WSJ today. ‘U.S. investigators have examined contacts Attorney General Jeff Sessions had with Russian officials during the time he was advising Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, according to people familiar with the matter.’

They were investigating a sitting United States Senator who hadn’t done anything? They’re investigating a sitting Attorney General who hasn’t done anything? Based on what premise? The fact that he was advising Donald Trump? Is this not appalling and shocking to you?

That’s just part of the first minute. Listen to the entire segment below: (go to the link to listen)

In the next segment, Levin went on to tie this Obama investigation of Sessions in with the Michael Walsh piece from a few days ago that showed how the NSA was given expanded powers by Obama to share all of this information with more agencies; and then tied it all in with the NY Times piece that exposed how the Obama administration was rushing to spread this information all over the administration before they got out.

Listen: (go to the link to listen)

So the Obama administration coordinated all of this to undermine the Trump administration. They investigate a sitting Senator and possibly even Trump, they give the NSA broader powers to share this information around to other agencies, and then rush to make sure it gets spread everywhere before they get out.

And of course today we learn that Valerie Jarrett just moved into Obama’s DC bungalow in order to mount an insurgency against Trump to try and get him out of office.

And yet all the media can talk about is Jeff Sessions, Trump and Russia

wasn't Nixon forced to resign over his men doing the same?

well it just gets worse..
Trump accuses Obama administration of wiretapping Trump Tower phones

Was Trump Tower wiretapped?

President Trump made a startling claim Saturday that former President Barack Obama had Trump Tower phones tapped in the weeks before the November 2016 election.

In early Saturday morning tweets that began at 6:35 a.m., the president said the alleged wiretapping was “McCarthyism” and “Nixon/Watergate.”

“Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism,” Trump wrote.

“Is it legal for a sitting President to be ‘wire tapping’ a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!” he said in another tweet.

“How low has President Obama gone to tap (sic) my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergage. Bad (or sick) guy!” Trump tweeted.

a Breitbart article posted Friday that claimed the Obama administration made two Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) requests in 2016 to monitor Trump communications and a computer server in Trump Tower focusing on possible links with Russian banks. No evidence was found.

seems like they were "fishing" for more info then just that by the latest revelations.,...

Interesting and Terrible. We don't need to worry about the Russians as much as the Obama administration.
I hope this stuff gets out. Of course, the MSM won't touch it. Just one more reason why Trump doesn't trust the MSM.

No wonder they were in crisis mode when Hillary didn't win. They thought they had it all covered. The American people
really threw a wrench in things.

It is all over Trump's twitter so the MSM is going to look really bad if Trump's tens of millions of followers don't see them reporting on such a story. FOX was all over it yesterday and again this morning. If the MSM don't report on this you can bet they are behind some of the plans to take Trump down and are protecting Obama and Jarrett by destroying their own credibility.

I say again Comey and even McCabe can not be allowed to investigate this as they are tainted after the Hillary case and Now the Hit Priebus told last week because McCabe pulled him aside and informed him of FBI ongoing investigation findings.

Sheriff David Clarke was on FOX the other day saying he and Trump were talking about a job for him in DC but he would not say what it was. I hope he will be assigned to investigate Obama as he hates Obama after he invited Black Lives Matters to White House and spoke out against Cops for 8 years. I wouldn't even mind if Sheriff Joe and his Posse were assigned to check it out since he investigated Obama forged birth certificate. But who ever it is they need to get on it fast before any more national Security leaks are printed in the New York Times.

Former AG said tonight that the FBI is the ones that has to apply for a FISA warrant, so what did Comey use to get it when he came out and said in Oct the month the successful FISA warrant was issued that there was no link that the FBI could find. He also said DOJ AG Lynch would know and would have advised Obama on the FISA warrant before it was applied for.

Still, they have said that Mr. Trump himself has not become a target. And no evidence has emerged that would link him or anyone else in his business or political circle directly to Russia’s election operations.

numerous Democrats and media pundits have come out with scathing accusations that Trump is either mentally disturbed, or simply has no idea what he is talking about.

The best example of this came from Ben Rhodes, a former senior adviser to President Obama in his role as deputy National Security Advisor, who slammed Trump's accusation, insisting that "No President can order a wiretap. Those restrictions were put in place to protect citizens from people like you." He also said "only a liar" could make the case, as Trump suggested, that Obama wire tapped Trump Tower ahead of the election.

It would appear, however, that Rhodes is wrong, especially as pertains to matters of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance, and its associated FISA court, under which the alleged wiretap of Donald Trump would have been granted, as it pertained specifically to Trump's alleged illicit interactions with Russian entities.

In Chapter 36 of Title 50 of the US Code *War and National Defense", Subchapter 1, Section 1802, we read the following:

(1) Notwithstanding any other law, the President, through the Attorney General, may authorize electronic surveillance without a court order under this subchapter to acquire foreign intelligence information for periods of up to one year if the Attorney General certifies in writing under oath that—

(A) the electronic surveillance is solely directed at—
(i) the acquisition of the contents of communications transmitted by means of communications used exclusively between or among foreign powers, as defined in section 1801(a)(1), (2), or (3) of this title; or
(ii) the acquisition of technical intelligence, other than the spoken communications of individuals, from property or premises under the open and exclusive control of a foreign power, as defined in section 1801(a)(1), (2), or (3) of this title;

(B) there is no substantial likelihood that the surveillance will acquire the contents of any communication to which a United States person is a party; and

(C) the proposed minimization procedures with respect to such surveillance meet the definition of minimization procedures under section 1801(h) of this title; and
if the Attorney General reports such minimization procedures and any changes thereto to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence at least thirty days prior to their effective date, unless the Attorney General determines immediate action is required and notifies the committees immediately of such minimization procedures and the reason for their becoming effective immediately.

While (B) seems to contradict the underlying permissive nature of Section 1802 as it involves a United States person, what the Snowden affair has demonstrated all too clearly, is how frequently the NSA and FISA court would make US citizens collateral damage. To be sure, many pointed out the fact that Fox News correspondent James Rosen was notoriously wiretapped in 2013 when the DOJ was investigating government leaks. The Associated Press was also infamously wiretapped in relation to the same investigation.

Furthermore, while most Democrats - not to mention former president Obama himself - have been harshly critical of Trump's comments, some such as former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau was quite clear in his warning to reporters that Obama did not say there was no wiretapping, effectively confirming it:
Jon Favreau‏Verified account @jonfavs

I'd be careful about reporting that Obama said there was no wiretapping. Statement just said that neither he nor the WH ordered it.

Favreau also urged his twitter followers to read a thread that explicitly suggested the prior existence of FISA-endorsed wiretaps:

Additionally, Philip Rucker, the WaPo's White House bureau chief echoed Favreau's caveat, namely that the Obama spokesman’s statement does not deny the existence of wiretaps on Trump Tower, only that Obama himself and the Obama White House did not approve them if they did exist.

But what is perhaps most important, is that we may know soon enough. As the NYT reported on Saturday afternoon, a senior White House official said that Donald F. McGahn II, the president’s chief counsel, was working on Saturday to secure access to what the official described as a document issued by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court authorizing surveillance of Mr. Trump and his associates.

If and when such a document is made public - assuming it exists of course - it would be Trump, once again, that gets the last laugh.

Does it really matter what excused they used to get the second "new" judge to OK it? Especially after the first denied it twice?

("new" likely means Obama appointed?.) :???: :?

Clapper minced words?
For the part of the national security apparatus that I oversaw as DNI, there was no such wiretap activity mounted against the president-elect at the time, as a candidate, or against his campaign," Clapper said.

Nope you didn't oversee that other part, and it was against the "Russians' "

but then he said,...
Clapper added that, in the report the intelligence agencies compiled in the fall on Russia meddling in the US election, there was no evidence that the Trump campaign illegally conspired with Russian operatives.

"We did not include any evidence in our report — and I say, 'our,' that's N.S.A., F.B.I. and C.I.A., with my office, the Director of National Intelligence — that had anything, that had any reflection of collusion between members of the Trump campaign and the Russians," he said. "There was no evidence of that included in our report."

Really how would you know if you didn't "listen in"?

Knowing he flat out lied to congress it is hard to take him at his word.
