I know its early to be thinking on this but so far out of my mature cow herd I have 90percent heifers and i'm half done and I only 50 head of spring calving cows. all of the calves are 1/2 hereford and 1/4 angus and 1/4 simmy . the bulls are gavel sons and channing sons. the best cows have had heifers. my luck prices are going up so i end up with a majority heifers at 10 dollars a hundred less. I think there is a niche in baldy replacements. should i invest in pelvic measurements , implant them just looking 4 ideas.

Save your money on implants and pelvic measuring, but market them as "replacement quality heifers." It might pay to have them Bangs vaccinated when you give the preconditioning shots. They should bring a premium.

The F1 baldy heifers are a pretty hot commodity right now in this country. They are usually outselling their blk counterparts and in some cases with reputation genetics and maternal bulls they outsell their steer mates.

Don't implant them. You have a lot of time to decide how to market them and no sense in limiting your options at this point. Let the end buyer make that decision.
