Heifer with a swelled up brisket. She came from where she spent the winter with this infection,
probably caused by steel coming through a tractor tire feed bunk where ground hay was fed.

The vet came to check out the deal. We got her in a squeeze chute where he injected her with anesthetic.
When she started to get dopey, we turned her out of the chute so she could lay down, making it easier to operate on her.

Soooo, did the heifer live or become profit?

Nice and green in your country, may it stay that way all summer.

The jury is still out, as she was just operated on this morning. She does seem to be doing well this evening.

Was that the only heifer that got punctured by the steel coming
through the tire? In my travels, I've seen calves with the top of
their neck rubbed raw because the top board on the feedline
was too low and the calves didn't want to put their heads through
and eat because of it, but I've never seen this before.

Everything else looks good on the Spearhead.
Thanks for the pictures. Nice to see Kosmo's sorrell horse. :p
