We are DRY here. All that rain, ever since that day I was at your place, has missed us down here.
I quit seeding until we get some moisture!!! Going fencing instead. I hate fencing.

You must be closer to me TimH- because its drying up here too...Spent the morning putting in some pipes and culverts, because as soon as they get to us on the water list, we're going to start irrigating the hayfields- hopefully we can get a couple heads of water this afternoon...Suppose to be close to 90 for a couple days too.....

Hayfields went from looking good to starting to turn blue colored- cracks starting to appear......Need moisture...

Which reminds me, I better get to town and pay my last years water bill- Paid it once and thought it was terrible high, but got going over it with the partner the other day, we found they charged him for a whole bunch of my water- so I owe about $1000 more- which they now got on the right bill  Water costs have gone up over 300% in the last 10 years- but its nice to have when you need it....

Lets see fuel, fertilizer, steel, equipment, vehicles, land all up around 100% in last 10 years- but the government says we don't have inflation- I don't know where they get the 3% figure-- must be all that cheap food they keep cheap to keep inflation down

Fuel has more than doubled in price, since 2000. Ouch!!! I burn as little as possible. A guy can only cut down so much, though.
My Dad paid $8500 for 3 quarter sections here in 1961. I bought them from him in 2000. The interest on what I had to pay for it is more, per year, than the original $8500 he paid to buy it. That eats a pretty big hole into any amount the land appreciates while I own it.
Oh well..... Bankers gotta eat too, I suppose!

I'm about 40 miles from the N. Dak border and about about 35 from Sk. border.About a 4 hour drive east of Big Muddy.
I was planning on sowing 160 or so acres of alfalfa but there is no point unless it rains. The rest is getting millet and I don't sow that until around June 1st......if M_R will sell me some rain by then. :)

Where do we start he bidding on a nice steady rain for a day... Ill open the bidding at $10....

Its so damn windy here today, with the heat its really drying things out. Wish it would go down so I could get out and spray some glyphosate on some ground we are going to sow down to hay.

Howd that mig work Tim?

:???: Get a drunk to run around the yard naked :???:

That doesn't work around here. I get drunk and run around the yard naked almost every day.....and still NO RAIN!
I left a load of seed on the truck, un-tarped, and outside. That should be good for a quick downpour at least. :D

The MIG works just fine. Handier than pockets in your underwear!! :)

TimH, one of the local guys, who is ten times a character, said one time that he had good news, and bad news. Good news was that the oats were up and sprouting. Bad news is that they are still in the truck box.

Looks like I might have to start taking back some of the nice things I have been saying about you. :)
