McCain already destroyed the llama in the saddleback "debate". What makes you think he's afraid? It looks more like mercy than fear to me.

It appears they think they don't have Sister Sarah "programmed" well enough yet...I heard her yesterday- and even Katie Couric had her in a bind- reasking a question- which she could only parrot the exact same programmed answer both times....

McCain camp to propose postponing VP debate
Posted: 08:58 AM ET

From CNN Correspondent Dana Bash

Biden and Palin are set to debate October 2.
(CNN) — McCain supporter Sen. Lindsey Graham tells CNN the McCain campaign is proposing to the Presidential Debate Commission and the Obama camp that if there's no bailout deal by Friday, the first presidential debate should take the place of the VP debate, currently scheduled for next Thursday, October 2 in St. Louis.

In this scenario, the vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin would be rescheduled for a date yet to be determined, and take place in Oxford, Mississippi, currently slated to be the site of the first presidential faceoff this Friday.

Graham says the McCain camp is well aware of the position of the Obama campaign and the debate commission that the debate should go on as planned — but both he and another senior McCain adviser insist the Republican nominee will not go to the debate Friday if there's no deal on the bailout.

There isn't a person on this board who couldn't beat Biden in a debate. First of all, that windbag doesn't know how to shut up. All you have to do is ask one question, he'll ramble for half an hour, and then you just point out the contratictions in his speech (like the bridge) and he's beat.

Bill Clinton: Don't 'Overly Parse' McCain Request to Delay Debate

Share September 25, 2008 8:26 AM

ABC News' Nitya Venkataraman Reports: Former President Bill Clinton defended Sen. John McCain's request to delay the first presidential debate, saying McCain did it in "good faith" and pushed organizers to reserve time for economy talk during the debate if the Friday plans move forward.

Appearing on Good Morning America Thursday, Clinton told ABC News' Chris Cuomo that McCain's push to postpone the debate would only be a good political move if both candidates agreed. McCain announced on Wednesday that he would "suspend" his presidential campaign to come to Washington to help negotiate a financial bailout bill

"We know he didn't do it because he's afraid because Sen. McCain wanted more debates," Clinton said, adding that he was "encouraged" by the joint statement from McCain and Sen. Barack Obama.

"You can put it off a few days the problem is it's hard to reschedule those things," Clinton said, "I presume he did that in good faith since I know he wanted -- I remember he asked for more debates to go all around the country and so I don't think we ought to overly parse that."

If the debate moves forward as planned for Friday night, Clinton says "they should be able to talk about this some of the debate because it is a security issue."

The former president thought Bush's address Wednesday night on the economic crisis had a "positive reaction".

"I thought it was the clearest statement of why we're in the fix we're in, at least what the nature of it is and why some national action is needed," Clinton said.

He said that both Democrats and Republicans "should move as quickly as they can" on the president's economic rescue plan but that both parties "want to know exactly how this $700 billion is going to be invested..to stabilize the system."

President Bush's bipartisan meeting on the economic crisis will take place at 4pm at the White House, both Obama and McCain will be in attendance.

No wonder McBusch is having media problems-- he was scheduled to go on the Letterman Show- but a short time before the show called and canceled saying he needed to catch a plane to get back to Washington for the financial crisis--but instead went and did an interview with Katie Couric to try and patch up Sister Sarahs gaffes...
Letterman did not think it was funny...

● John McCain had to cancel an appearance on the show because he is suspending his campaign because the economy is exploding.

You know John McCain, the running mate of Sarah Palin?

Top Ten Questions People Are Asking the John McCain Campaign

10. "I just contributed to your campaign — how do I get a refund?"
9. "It's Sarah Palin — does this mean I'm pars'dent?"
8. "Can't you solve this by selling some of your homes?"
7. "Hi, this is Clay Aiken. Is McCain single?"
6. "Do you still think the fundamentals of our economy are strong, genius?"
5. "Are you doing all this just to get out of going on Letterman?"
4. "What would Matlock do?"
3. "Hillary here — my schedule is free Friday night"
2. "Is this just an excuse to catch up on napping?"
1. "This is President Bush — what's all this trouble with the economy?"

Barak Hussein Obama good friend and associate:

As a gesture of solidarity, the Vietnamese who Dohrn met in Budapest presented her with a ring made from an American aircraft shot down over North Vietnam. Bill Ayers would receive a similar ring while meeting with Vietnamese communists in Toronto. He later recalled being so moved by the gesture that he "left the room to cry." He said, "I realized...America was an evil... and that I was... living inside the belly of the beast...."

I don't know of too many people who give a ratz azz what Letterman thinks or has to say about much of anything. He is good for an occasional laugh tho. Of course, so are Obama and Biden.

“That’s how it works. Yeah, McCain got out of last night’s show. I wasn’t so lucky. But McCain wants the presidential debate postponed until after the big government bailout, you know. Sarah Palin wants the vice presidential debate postponed until after the election. But that’s a different deal.” -David Letterman

“And you know, John McCain wants to suspend his debate with Barack Obama until the economic crisis is over. And Sarah Palin now wants to suspend her debate with Joe Biden until she can find Europe on a map. So we’ll see what happens there.” -Jay Leno

i can almost feel sorry for palin. she shouldn't have been asked and she shouldn't have said yes. she has that deer in the headlights look in every interview now. she must have had no idea what she was getting into because all you see is stress whenever she has to face a question. she'll end up dragging that ticket down and be sent back to alaska never to be heard from again.

I'd like to go at it with him over wind generation.

It wouldn't matter one iota in the end anyway. Those who are still believing are simply beyond hope. Let them vote and lets see what happens.

Debates are pointless at this point. If you don't know what you want and you don't know who is for what, you need to get out of the mushrooms.

I don't think she expected the level of partisan nonsense that she's getting from people that call themselves reporters. That "Bush Doctrine" question is a prime example. I think she was expecting much more common sense and objectivity.

that's crap. the press will go after any weakness and that woman is weak. if she didn't know what the bush doctrine was how did other people or was it just something hatched to make her look bad. everybody thought mccain pulled such a coup by bringing in somebody fresh and new but really what he did was select an unknown entity without vetting her. over the next five weeks she could end up doing a lot of damage to the reublican party. a bad choice and the wise thing is to keep her under wraps and pray for a miracle (she could probably take care of that).

How could Sarah Palin not have know what she was getting herself into! This isn't some little social club election, for cripes sake. If she didn't know that she would be asked questions by people that live and breathe politics, that write about politics everyday, that make their living questioning candidates, analyzing their answers, then she sure isn't ready for prime time. And the last I heard, Vice President of the United States qualifies for prime time!

What if she is facing someone like Castro? Someone like Ghadafi? Does she simply smile that million watt smile, flutter her eyelashes, be demure and hope they feel sorry for her and back off? Not very freakin' likely!

Obama is weak, but the press just looks the other way.

When was the Bush Doctrine written, little d? Where did you read it?
