McCain Campaign Declines to Meet with Billy Graham

In another disturbing sign that Sen. John McCain has little interest in reaching out to his conservative base, including evangelical Christian voters, his campaign has declined an offer to meet with the Rev. Billy Graham.

For almost six decades, Graham has been America’s most influential preacher and evangelist, a man sought out by every president since Harry Truman.

Not sure I would go and say something like that, unless you really know whom you are speaking of. Who are you to say none of the 10 or 15 people that ran for President of the United States of America are not good people? Or were you speaking about Canada? If so disregard!

I do agree here religion should not be part of the political process. And most importantly politics should not be part of the Religious process.

This is a big mistake for McCain. I also think it's a big mistake to distance himself from Bush.

But what do I know?

You don't know a dang thing about college football, why would you know anything about politics?

I don't know about distancing himself from Bush being a mistake but refusing to meet with B. Graham- :???: :???: seems to me he had a lot to gain and little to lose by having such a meeting.

Why would he do this? His campaign has been badly run. Did you see the clips from his speech the other day with the green backdrop? Or the picture on his website where his teeth are yellow? Those are unimportant things, but wouldn't you expect more from the candidate of a major political party? To dis Billy Graham is just stupid. He's widely honored and respected in this country. Maybe McBush is snake bit after Hagee?

He has a campaign that has been run by LOBBYISTS- the same people that run him in D.C....... :(
He prefers lobbyists like Exxon scandalized former Senator Phil Gramm (his economic advisor  ) over the likes of Rev. Billy Graham  ....Says a lot right there :(

It may not be a smart political move, but I could respect him for not meeting with Preachers to discuss political matters.

I do not want any religious leaders clouding the mind of our leaders, rather it is Rev Wright, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton or Billy Graham. A president does not be needing to look at the Bible when faced with the question to Nuke Iran, because the Bible will tell him not to do it and in reality it may be the best decision for the Country to do so, just like it was with Japan.

There is a reason why Jesus did not come earth and run for a political office.

   Yikes-- too bad Reverend Right (RR) hasn't been around for awhile- he'd have you up before the pulpit on Blasphemy charges    :p

If He did, He'd run as a Democrat.

What do you think his platform would be?

---The killing of unborn babies through Abortion, including partial birth were they pull only the head out and then suck the brains out to kill the child?
