McCain Concedes Colorado, Iowa, and New Mexico

CNN is reporting that McCain is making those tough decisions that politicians love to talk about. According to CNN, McCain is abandoning Colorado (9 EVs), Iowa (7 EVs) and New Mexico (5 Evs). If Obama wins these three he gets 21 EVs. Add these to the 252 EVs Kerry won and he has 273 and becomes President. McCain's strategy at this point is to win Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Missouri, Nevada, and--get this--Pennsylvania. The first six are arguably swing states, but our three-poll average puts Obama 12 points ahead in Pennsylvania. McCain is effectively betting the farm on a state which looks like an Obama landslide. It is a strange choice. Colorado looks a lot easier than Pennsylvania. James Carville once famously said that Pennsylvania is Philadelphia and Pittsburgh with Alabama sandwiched in between. Maybe McCain is going to go all out to win the white working class men in the Alabama section of Pennsylvania. McCain can't possibly do it on the economy. What's left? Maybe run against the Wright/Ayers ticket? Any way you look at it, this has to be a desperation move.

You gotta wonder why McCain bothers to waste fuel and spend more money...........just pack it in and go to one of the 13 homes.

He probably can't remember where they are  I just read an interesting article- McCain and his wife don't even live in the same house most of the time...She lives in the California beach mansion- and he lives in the Arizona desert mansion....

Sounds like you and the old lady OT...here in the dog house and you in the $hit house.

But what the hell is wrong with owning more than one house if you can afford it? Kola brags about her Google Stock (which is a figment of her imagination), her air strip and her mansion. Nowhere does the law say we are restricted to one house.

You're right. There's nothing wrong with owning more than one house. Can you tell me why you think none of those houses are owned in their names: John and Cindy McCain?

Because it's not necessary. Plain and simple. One of my homes is in my name only. It was convenient.

Their homes aren't in either of their names. They're in trusts, business entities, etc. Why do you think they do that?

To protect them from theft of course. Pelosi wants to steal all she can find and she admits to it in public.

There is a difference between a home and what you and the media call a home. By your standards, some folks living under bridges or in cars have a home too. Don't tell Pelosi tho, she'll be assessing taxes on those cars folks live in. She'll also be classifying them as middle class since they own their own homes.

I betcha it saves them money. Very smart move. Seems John and Theresa Kerry did that with millions from Heinz recently to avoid taxes. Those things are in the tax laws to be used.

Everyone had best start preparing to roll capital gains into something like real estate. Pelosi will take if if you don't. fff doesn't understand these sorts of things. She apparently never had any big captial gains.

Seems like atleast for right now they are smarter at titling their homes than they are at politics doesn't it? :?

 Are you saying John and Cindy McCain, multi billionaires, don't pay the same taxes on their 8-10 homes as the rest of us? That they put those homes in trusts and names of their business TO AVOID TAXES? How can they do that? Could I start a trust and avoid or lower my tax bill? Or is only the rich who can do that?

#1....you're an idiot

#2...I DO have Google stock

#3... I do have only ONE house.

fff...First off...they're multi-millionaires..not billionaires....and not to avoid taxes..All real estate is taxable. But there are other reasons as well. And yes if you were smart enough and had anything to put in a trust you might "save" some taxes....might even be rich someday, but wealth doesn't just fall out of the sky. (unless of course your name is Obama)
Why don't you google their tax return. I bet it shows you exactly how much they paid in real estate taxes.
