McCain got a huge bump from the RNC

Or maybe it was Sarah who got that 'bump' for him and their party.

They mentioned on FOX News this morning that in one poll, McCain
LEADS Obama by more than the margin of error; and is even-up in several others.

For you real "speculators" you can go to the following site and put your money behind your confidence in your candidates...

http://www.intrade.com/

Currently the bettors are expecting Obama to win a net 84 electoral votes, that is, an Obama win 311 to 227.

The Votemaster who does his over a compilation of data has it Obama 301 McCain 224 Ties 13

I don't understand that speculating betting that much as I do the plain old bookies that have it

Obama/Dems 8/15-- in other words if you bet $15- you win $8 back

McCain/Repubs 13/8-- if you bet $8 - you win $13 back....

It doesn't seem that long ago that Oldtimer was posting Vegas betting odds that Hillary was going to win.

I'll give you a better deal, I'll give you even odds if you want to take Obama. How much are you in for?

I've never bet on politics or football games-- too many unknowns- too many things can change because of one incident...Closest I've came is when my kid wanted me to partner (go half on the big bucks  ) on fantasy football-- and I just watched our 1st round pick- Brady- take a hit to the knee and go out of the game  :(

Are these the same bettors that made New England a 12 point favorite in last year's Super Bowl?

Here's the poll: http://www.electoral-vote.com/

I got to looking at it and it's got to be one of the most unreliable "polls" out there. They don't even do their own polling. All they do is take the "most recent" poll from each state and stick it up there, and they don't do a very good job of that. If you put your mouse on a state it'll show you the most recent poll they used and the results. The most recent one I could find was from Sept. 2, and that's an eternity in politics. Most of them go back 3-4 weeks, and three of them go back to Feb. 28. These are the "most recent" polls they could come up with? An awful lot has happened since then. This "poll" is one of the most bogus, laughable things I've ever seen!!

Anyone interested in more up-to-date and comprehensive polling should go to The Rasmussen Report. No poll is perfect, but it's bound to be light years ahead of Votemaster for accuracy.

Palin was brought in mainly in my view to consolidate the Republican Base of right leaning and fundamentalist evangelicals that won the election for Bush over Kerry- and possibly to pander to the Hillary women ( which it doesn't appear is working)....

The problem is- the Republican Base that won it for Bush is not there anymore like it was in 2004-- thanks mainly to Bush and his shenanigans- along with the rubber stamping of his actions by a Republican Congress...
Just not as many folks that agree with the policy of the current Republican Party- and don't want anymore of the past 7 years....

Gallop Poll-- Selected Trend on Party Affiliation

------------------------Repubs-----------Independents-----------Dems
July 2008 -------------27%---------------- 35% ------------------35%
Sep 2004--------------37%-----------------24%-------------------34%

Ya-- But didn't his blow up girls win this weekend :???:

With my luck I'm not betting on nothing...First weekend of fantasy football and all our players have played- and we have a total 10 points   - and our number one draft pick Brady sounds like he may by out for the year needing knee surgery  ...
My son now wishes he'd listened to the old man and picked Favre- he threw 3 touchdowns today including a 50+ yarder....I'm hoping I can trade off Brady for him tomorrow..

I have Brady, too. Had him all year last year and he sure got me a lot of points. Not so lucky this year. Not only that, one of my WRs and one of my RBs also went out with knee injuries. I have 3 trades coming and will get 1 each week from now on, but I sure hate to use 3 in one week. Oh, well.

I find this hilarious OT coming on and giving odds from the oddsmakers and how the reps are doomed.
With my luck I'm not betting on nothing
So it seems he has no faith in what he posts but expects us to believe it.
Just what I expected from a hypocrite.
