I guess if your wife has $100 Million and you're part of the rich and elite- you can throw $100 chips around without worrying :p Frankie- isn't this against your religion too :???:

McCain is a Gambler

Everyone knows about McCain's political gambles--picking an unknown governor as running mate, suspending his campaign to fly to Washington to try to help negotiate the bailout bill, etc. But in real life he really is a gambler who enjoys frequenting casinos. As former chairman of the Indian affairs committee in the Senate, he has had a huge impact on the laws regulating Indian gambling. He also is very close with lobbyists for the $26 billion/year gambling industry as are many of his top advisors. The NY Times has a scoop on McCain's numerous ties to the gambling industry. Part of the reason he lost the nomination in 2000 is that although few people know McCain is a lifelong gambler, evangelicals know this and oppose gambling. Even in 2008 they are still cool to him, although the choice of Sarah Palin helps a lot.

oldtimer i will answer you. I play the lottery. But how do you know who paid for those chips were they courtesy or bought did he ever claim winnings. Come on put some substance behind it.

.

Looks to me like he emerged with winnings- or else maybe its like you said courtesy chips and thats how they funnel their thankyou payoffs to him.... :???:
Don't bother me except not too many folks can go flipping around $100 chips- anyway of the folks I know ( most them are in the quarter slots crowd) ...But I don't know any Gigolos either- or folks that own 7-8 houses and a dozen cars and married to a wife worth over a Million $...

And his lobbyiest connections to big gambling/casinos and Abramoff don't surprise me a bit- as he's had a 25 year history of making his decisions by whoever waves the most money in his face...Kind of like Judas :???:
But I would think this would shake up the Bible thumpers that are always preaching against and trying to close down gambling and the casinos....

Senator John McCain was on a roll. In a room reserved for high-stakes gamblers at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, he tossed $100 chips around a hot craps table. When the marathon session ended around 2:30 a.m., the Arizona senator and his entourage emerged with thousands of dollars in winnings.

For much of his adult life, Mr. McCain has gambled as often as once a month, friends and associates said, traveling to Las Vegas for weekend betting marathons.

So McCain goes to the casino once a month. I'd say thats preferrable to going to Wright's "Church" even once a year.

I don't care either- I just wanted to see if it fit into Frankies "Christian" principals he supposedly lives by...He's the anti-sinner that thinks we're all on a one way ticket to hell- not me....But he won't answer...

He bit. Hook, line and sinker. You have a fish on the line. You can either take it home with you or throw in back.

The vocabulary is limited and the perverse thoughts spilling out in his words make me believe that the principles or creed this person "lives by" are merely a fraudulant ploy. This type of action turns people away from what he claims to promote.

You are completely right. I had drinks aboard a cruise ship in '05. Before that it was at a wedding that might have been in '01 or '02. Then there was that company party in January of '93. Surely there is another time or two since my bro became an alcoholic in '80 and I decided to never recreational drink. So there were probably atleast 5 occasions in the last 28 years. Yes about the daughter who came home from college on drugs too. What a beast that was to deal with. I almost pushed her over the edge. But we dealt with it and we overcame. Things are fine. We learned a great deal about things that we didn't really need to know before. All we can do now is share with other families going through this.

The truth doesn't hurt one iota.

Is there anything you'd really like to know or share with the rest of the world about me?

Heck I enjoy a good mixed drink, a glass of wine or a cold beer and love to do some recreational gambling. Don't see one thing wrong with it. As I recall Jesus was a pretty good wine maker himself....and he made lots of it according to scripture. Was even called a "wine bibber". My bible teaches moderation in all things.......not abstinence. Look at some of these big fat ass preachers. I belive "gluttony" is a sin as well.
