Meadow Lake . . .

Well Northern Rancher, it's funny how all of a sudden a name from the past can suddenly take on meaning.

I was going through some old business contacts today when I came across a business card from "Home Building Center" at 802 -1st Avenue West, Meadow Lake, Sk.

You might even know the place!

Because I supply Home Hardware Stores with the best door latch ever made for sliding doors on sheds and barns, I was at their products show at their head office here in Ontario a few years ago.

This unbelievably big show is where manufacturers/suppliers go to peddle their wares and meet as many stores owners/employees as possible.

A guy by the name of Troy Rowland dropped his card on my table. Don't know if he is still there or not.

About 3 years ago, I took our 2 youngest sons on a sales trip covering a number of Home Hardware stores and a few Timbrmarts from the eastern Manitoba border as far as Vermillion.

If I would have known the Ranchers.net folks back then, I would have probably been close enough to a few to stop by and see them. However, Meadow Lake would have been a far piece to drive from where we were, I think!

Maybe next time. I can just see it already, head out on a sales trip and end up buying more cattle than I can hold! How would I explain that when I got home?

If you want to see what I supply to Home, look on page 139, item 20, of your 2006 catalogue. I am assuming that the Western catalogue is the same as the Eastern edition. If anybody is having trouble finding a door latch that works well on sliding or rolling shed doors, take a look at this latch.

Oh yeah, I left some at Weber's Do-it Center in Yorkton as well. This is an un-paid, non-political announcement!

I think an unpaid advertisement should translate into a 50% discount for everyone who reads it, don't you MLA?

I can see a door latches for Hereford semen -east/west trade iniative coming up here lol. Maple Leaf you need to go on a road trip with me-if I'm driving my buddies don't sleep because we might end up a state or two off course lol. By the way interstates are for sissies you meet the most intertesting people driving the sideroads and stopping at the little waterholes.

Jeepers, sounds like I can't win no how! Have you seen or used that latch DaleK? On the box, it goes by the name "leverlock". Ideal Roofing (from Ottawa) distributes it, too.

Just look in yer freakin' catalogue. You will be happy you did and I'll shut up!

East versus west, my foot! Only if you make it that, BMr!

End of shameless plug. :)
