If she's the voice of the emerging Republican Party, I say yippee. She immediately pointed out that there is a generation gap between Obama and some, with him being on her side of the gap :D They were talking about people attacking him for being on television this week and in general using technology to get his message to the citizens.

Yep- I watched her too- and totally agree with her feelings on Laura Ingram and Ann Coulter-and that they sadly portray a false image of or are spokewomen of what a Republican woman is/should be-- and who after their personal attacks on her size told them they could Kiss her Fat A**... :D

And she's correct- as I've said for years- the current Republican Party- which she also says is now leaderless and has no direction- has a huge generational gap and is losing generations of younger people because of their radical and extremist outdated social views...

Watched it! She made a big impression on me. My husband mocked her speech..."totally...whatever...et al." I told him my daughter used the same lexicon and my daughter is 36...and he thinks she's wonderful! I also appreciated what she said about the pundits making fun of her weight. She's a poised, together, very intelligent young lady.

Alice (who knows what it is to be daddy's little girl...like Meghann...gawd, I miss my republican daddy!)

Do you know what her positions on the issues are?

If you'd watched it, you'd know!

I was asking if Reader knew.

She calls herself a Progressive Republican-- moderate on social issues, conservative on fiscal and economic issues...She believes in stem cell research- tolerance and equal rights for all races and sex's, including sexual preferences- supports gay marriages- personally opposes abortion-but believes the decision should be left up to the woman- and would never look down upon someone that had one...
She also opposes the fearmongering/hatemongering and divisive tactics of the current Repub Party spokespersons such as Coulter and Ingram..Some of which she has blamed on lack of leadership-and a practical/sensible direction/platform that can relate to the majority of the people- especially the younger generations....

Kind of the thinking of the majority of the nation- and especially the last couple generations that left the grey haired old fogie current thinking of the Repub party.....

OT, "Kind of the thinking of the majority of the nation- and especially the last couple generations that left the grey haired old fogie current thinking of the Repub party....."

The problem with the Republican party is that they've strayed from the old fogie thinking. Those old fogie's stood for fiscal responsibilty, small government, low taxes, etc.... If they would return to those roots, I would join.

That statement alone is enough for me to be wary of her.......considering who it came from.

"Lively", "articulate", and being "open minded" are the only prerequisites for a candidate?

We had a dog-catcher with those attributes once. Problem was.......he couldn't catch a dog.

The economy was much better off in 1954, the national debt was much lower in 1954, the savings rate was much better in 1954...

You're getting your Moombats confused....I didn't say anyone was 'open-mided'...in fact I think that ' state' of mind DOES NOT exist....esp in Alabama!!

That was exactly what I was getting at when I asked her if she knew what McCain's positions were. You know, they put in an age limit on voting with the idea that age would bring a little maturity and intelligence, which would translate into logical reasoning in selecting a candidate. It appears that another filter is needed when people are choosing candidates on articulation instead of accomplishments.
