Went to the Merit sale yesterday. They raise both Char and Angus and do a terrific job with both. The family had raised Chars for years and the son in law brought the Angus with him.

They had the bulls in 11 pens then sold them by video up in the barn. Worked pretty good.
I bought a Crowfoot Equation bull who's a son of OCC Legacy839L

More importantly they are good people with a good philosophy on cattle raising and a positive attitude.

Lots 102?

Lot 98 the Stevenson Moneymaker son was a nice bull as well. They sold Full possession and half interest as they want to show him at the World Angus forum this summer.

CA - that 102 bull is pretty interesting. We have a lot of Main Event heifers/cows that have never seen a stitch of grain in their entire lives and they are good cows. The Dutch topside is interesting. If he breeds his pedigree he should be a pretty nice pick.

Looks like those bulls would work for just about anyone.

I looked up GDAR Dutch and wow, there is a lot of them.
The first I heard of the bull, Jim Vitt, Russ Denowh's son-in-law,
had one that GDAR wound up using for their cattle.
Jim Vitt is a great guy, raises good bulls at Fairview, Mt.
He feeds them at home so they are pretty gentle. The JV on
some of the Dutch bulls are from his bull. He sells private treaty
for anyone that is interested.
