as a NAVY retired I worked with alot of Marines.. and if my back was against a wall.,.. I would pray that a marine was standing with me..

not many men (or ladies) will look into the gates of hell and still be willing to step forward to protect their country.. but a Marine will.

The Marines know where they are going and still go.. that is real courage

A question: when a Mexican citizen commits a crime in the US- do you not think they should fall under US law- and be subject to the US legal and penal system?

Remember- smuggling guns into Mexico is a crime- along with possession of some firearms in Mexico...The man committed a crime in Mexico- should he not have to face Mexico's legal system?...
What makes you think a marine can not commit a crime?

Mexico, like most other countries of the world, does not have the same legal and penal system we have... In many ways we see it as much more harsh and unjust... But that is the risk you take when you enter that country- especially doing something illegally when you enter the country...

Are illegal mexicans being punished in the US?

So, you agree with Christians being killed in Muslim Countries, only because they become Christian?

I guess all gods are not the same, eh?

Funny thing is, that if free health care was not provided for an illegal, you would most likely call it "torture", but when this happens to an American citizen in another Country, you claim, "he should have known better"

Maybe you should stand behind your own laws, before you post such posts...

yep.... still waiting for Holder and crew to be convicted...

ok,.. sarcasm aside....

On March 31, he says he parked his truck in a parking lot and walked across the border to Tijuana at around noon. He claims he “walked around” and “looked at the shops.”

Tahmooressi then checked into a hotel and planned to stay the night, but he checked out early because it was “dirty and dark.” He says he decided to head back to the U.S. — and when got back into his truck, he took a wrong turn and ended up at a Mexican checkpoint.

Tahmooressi told Van Susteren that he informed the border patrol officers that he had three guns in his truck and he arrived at the checkpoint by accident. He was allegedly told that an escort vehicle would take him back to the U.S., but a military cop showed up instead.

“They were threatening to take my guns, take my truck and take all my possessions. And I told them, I said, ‘hey, take everything you want. Just let me go back to America.’ They put me under arrest and that was pretty much it,” he said.

years ago I was stationed at Point Loma, one of my duties was "duty driver"

this duty required me to pick up military members who were stationed at Pt Loma that were detained in Mexico..

myself and one other person would go to a Mexican jail and pick up personnel who had been arrested.. before going I would be briefed on the charges, and "draw cash" and sign a voucher...

the cash would be to pay fines..

one thing I learned early on was that the fines were negotiable..

the first time I had the cash to pay the fines of 4 sailors.. I ended up with 3... somehow the charges were increased and the money I was given wasn't enough..

I was told later that was often the case..

so the next time I went.. I divided the cash up and kept 1/3 in my own wallet.. and when I was asked how much I had and who I was picking up.. I told them who I was getting and how much I had in the "voucher"..

surprise.. it wasn't enough.. so after some talking I suggested me and the other guy with me might have enough to get the two other guys..

after walking to the van.. chatting about what jerks the Mexican police were I walked back.. and said we only had $135 between the two of us,

he said it was only enough for one.. I replied.. well if I had to make another trip then he might as well keep both.. and I might as well keep my cash..

a half hour later I was headed home with a full van load of sailors..

is that how it is supposed to be OT?

This has me really disturbed. He had no intent to own guns in Mexico. I think we should round up many many thousand illegals and have a prisoner swap.

The sentence that makes me mad every time I think about it is this.

"So why worry about this Marine (sounds like a dumb grunt- or a good smuggling story- to take a wrong turn- but knowing gyrenes they were never known for brains ) .... Wink"

Andrew Tahmooressi field promotion to Sgt.

A Marine War Hero in a Mexican Prison

Marine Corps veteran and reservist Andrew Tahmooressi returned home from three tours in Afghanistan highly decorated, including earning a rare combat meritorious promotion to sergeant, but also emotionally and physically scarred from his war experience. Now this war hero sits in the notorious La Mesa prison near Tijuana after driving into Mexico with three firearms by a complete mistake.

Here’s how this unfortunate situation occurred

While fighting in Afghanistan, Tahmooressi’s combat vehicle was upended by an IED (improvised explosive device) and he suffered a severe concussion. According to his mother, Jill Tahmooressi, who is a nurse, her son now suffers from directional dysfunctionality, frequently getting lost even in areas that he has driven in for years. Also, he has bouts of depression and hyper-vigilance among other symptoms. He was moving to the San Diego area with a Marine friend to be close to his treatment center.

Since returning from combat, Tahmooressi’s has a history of getting easily lost, paired with a lack of clear signage at the San Ysidro border crossing that led him to unwittingly enter Mexico.

Arrested

In the early morning hours of April 1 as Mexican officials surrounded his black Ford F-150 pick-up loaded with everything he owned, including three registered firearms, Sgt. Tahmooressi attempted to explain that he had made a wrong turn and expected them to escort him back to the border. Unfortunately for Tahmooressi, the Mexican officials placed him under arrest on gun charges and he is currently being held indefinitely at one of the most violent prisons in Mexico.

In a phone call to his mother, Andrew said, “Gang hitmen told him he was going to be raped, tortured, killed and leave the prison in a body bag.” And also, according to Mrs. Tahmooressi,

“He said, ‘Mom, I’m not going to make it through the night, I’m gonna be killed tonight. Whatever you do, don’t come down here to ask questions.’”

Will he be ignored like others?

Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Alpine). a Marine veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, this week appealed to Secretary of State John Kerry to urge Mexican authorities to release Tahmooressi.

“It is absolutely critical that Andrew’s release is achieved as soon as possible, allowing him to return home to his family,” Hunter wrote to Kerry this week. “He served his country faithfully as a U.S. Marine and he is owed the same commitment by the U.S. government in return.”

In his letter, Hunter said Tahmooressi “was recently admitted to the prison infirmary with a reported knife wound to his neck.”

This is completely unacceptable.

It’s not the first time a US Marine has either disappeared or been incarcerated in Mexico, as you can read here. We need to help this Brother! I am not calling for an armed assault on a Mexican prison, but, we have to reach out to congressmen and representatives and let them know. We Want Andrew Home!! This young man fought for his country, your country, and my country. He more than deserves the help of the public he swore to protect. If you do not know your congressman, just look up your district on Google and it should provide that information with an email address. If you do not know what to write them, send them a copy of this article. They will get the picture.

What OT isn't sharing is that his AQ buddies are already well established in Mexico. Makes for one less soldier available to kill flowers of the Prophet.

Allahu Akbar!
