Michelle Obama "Specifically Named Individual" on page 66 of Blago Indictment?
Blago Indictment Document - Chicago Tribune ^ | December 11, 2008 | Feds

Is Michelle Obama the "Specifically Named Individual" on page 66 of the Criminal Complaint against Governor Rod Blagojevich.

From the indictment:
ROD BLAGOJEVICH said that the consultants (Advisor B and another consultant are believed to be on the call at that time) are telling him that he has to “suck it up” for two years a More..nd do nothing and give this “motherf***er [the President-elect] his senator. F**k him. For nothing? F**k him.” ROD BLAGOJEVICH states that he will put “[Senate Candidate 4]” in the Senate “before I just give f**king [Senate Candidate 1] a f**king Senate seat and I don’t get anything.” (Senate Candidate 4 is a Deputy Governor of the State of Illinois).

ROD BLAGOJEVICH stated that he needs to find a way to take the “financial stress” off of his family and that his wife is as qualified or more qualified than another specifically named individual to sit on corporate boards.

The “specifically named individual” is Michelle Obama, who was appointed to the Board of TreeHouse Foods, a WAL-MART vendor, on June 25, 2005, even though she did not have experience in the private sector previous to the appointment and knows absolutely nothing about food distribution nor retail.

Here are the benefits the Obama family received as a result of Michelle Obama’s stint with the WAL-MART vendor:

According to the couple’s tax returns, Mrs Obama earned $51,200 (£25,700) for her work as a non-executive director on Treehouse’s board last year, on top of the $271,618 salary she was paid as a vice-president of the University of Chicago Hospitals.

She also received 7,500 Treehouse stock options, worth a further $72,375, as she did the previous year, when she banked a $45,000 salary from the company.

Your point?

My point? Maybe you should ask the Chicago Tribune?

From the way I take it, Obama had somehow finagled his wife some cushy appointments and Blag wanted the same for his wife.

They may not be the exact same peas, but they're from the same pod.

We'll know.......sooner or later. As soon as "Antoine" and "Blago" get through spilling their guts.

Like any good Republican, you don't have a point. You have insinuation, suggestion and misinformation. Many Democratic women aren't the "stay three steps behind your man" type that some on this board prefer. Michelle Obama is no Laura Bush, as Hillary wasn't a Barbara Bush. And I know that scares the crap out of some. :D

Michelle Obama is well qualified to set on the BOD of most any corporation. She has an impressive resume', graduating cum laude from Princeton University and she obtained her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Harvard Law School.

Following law school, she was an associate at the Chicago office of the law firm Sidley Austin, where she first met her husband. At the firm, she worked on marketing and intellectual property.[3] Subsequently, she held public sector positions in the Chicago city government as an Assistant to the Mayor, and as Assistant Commissioner of Planning and Development. In 1993, she became Executive Director for the Chicago office of Public Allies, a non-profit organization encouraging young people to work on social issues in nonprofit groups and government agencies.[12] She worked there nearly four years and set fundraising records for the organization that still stood a dozen years after she left.[10]

In 1996, Obama served as the Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago, where she developed the University's Community Service Center.[33] In 2002, she began working for the University of Chicago Hospitals, first as executive director for community affairs and, beginning May, 2005, as Vice President for Community and External Affairs.[34] She continued to hold the position during the primary campaign, but cut back to part time in order to spend time with her daughters as well as work for her husband's election;[35] she subsequently took a leave of absence from her job.[36]

She served as a salaried board member of TreeHouse Foods, Inc. (NYSE: THS),[37] a major Wal-Mart supplier with whom she cut ties immediately after her husband made comments critical of Wal-Mart at an AFL-CIO forum in Trenton, New Jersey, on May 14, 2007.[38] She serves on the board of directors of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.[39]

According to the couple’s 2006 income tax return, Michelle's salary was $273,618 from the University of Chicago Hospitals, while he had a salary of $157,082 from the United States Senate. The total Obama income, however, was $991,296 including $51,200 she earned as a member of the board of directors of TreeHouse Foods, plus investments and royalties from his books.[40]

A box full of college degrees are worthless unless you put them to work. I'd like to see some of the results of her work. Heck for that matter I'm still looking for the results of some of her husband's work.

Michelle Obama, who concentrated in sociology and received a certificate in African-American studies, examined how the attitudes of black alumni have changed over the course of their time at Princeton University. "Will they become more or less motivated to benefit the Black community?" Obama wrote in her thesis.

After surveying 89 black graduates, Obama concluded that attending the University as an undergraduate decreased the extent to which black alumni identified with the black community as a whole.

In other words.........they became "Too White".

If she hadn't married, she'd probably be the CEO of a huge corporation by now.
