Miles city Buckin Horse Sale

They are saying temps in the mid to upper 70's - with no rain (or snow) for both here and Miles City (which is hard to believe- no mud or cold/snow for Bucking Horse sale)-- so I am probably going to stick close to home and try to get some things done...

If that weather forecast holds up it should be a great time in Miles- as too often I've been there and its pretty nasty/mucky....But still a great time anyway... :D

I'll watch for you on MilesCam if you get near the Bison...

Jim Thompson was talking today that they are going to be streaming
the parade so it can be watched online. I thought he said KYMT.com,
but I tried that and I don't believe that's correct. :???:

I'm going to be there Saturday for the parade since my daughter is riding in it. May be back Sunday for the match bronc riding.

Plan going to the bronc riding on Sunday. The sale on Saturday could be good watching, I see that Burch's have several horses consigned including several NFR horses. I don't think it is like it used to be with wild horses. A lot of the consignments are horses that are proven buckers.

I don't think it will ever get back to what it was in the 60's- early 70's- when you still had big horse herds ran up here- and consigners hauling in hundreds of not only proven horses- but hundreds of 4-5-6 + year old "wild horses"...Much more work horse, heavy horse breeding in the country then- and some of those young heavy horses became the Descents of the time.... Now so much of it is bucking 2 and 3 year olds- QH bloodlines-- that aren't ready to buck yet- nor have the size....

I was over at Burch's a week ago Saturday helping them gather their 3 and 4 year old horses. That is always one heckuva good time. Talk about a rough ride. It is and then some. Matt and Chad told me they were taking some up to the sale. Its always a good time, but I can't remember it not raining on Saturday evening. We are planning on going if we get the yearlings moved in time. Maybe I will see some of ya'll up there.
