Military Favors McCain

While troops deployed abroad might be giving more money to Barack Obama, a poll released today says that John McCain will get the vast majority of votes from members of the military and veterans.

According to Gallup, McCain leads Obama 56 percent to 34 percent, with 11 percent expressing no opinion or picking someone else.

Obama spoke to the Veterans of Foreign Wars today in Florida, a day after McCain addressed the gathering.

Gallup said the poll is based on aggregated data from its daily tracking poll between Aug. 5 and Aug. 17, involving more than 11,000 registered voters, including 2,238 military veterans. Veterans are defined as those who are or have been members of the US military. Obama led McCain 46% to 43% among all registered voters during the period.

The military vote could be a difference maker in several traditionally Republican states where Obama is trying to pull off upsets, including North Carolina and Virginia.

And McCain would seem to have the edge because veterans tend to be Republican and because of his experience as a decorated Vietnam War veteran and prisoner of war. Obama did not serve in the military.

In its final pre-election poll in 2004, Gallup said that 60 percent of likely voters who had served in the military backed President Bush, compared with 40 percent who supported Democrat John F. Kerry. Gallup said: "It is notable, then, that McCain is doing only about as well among military veterans as Bush did in 2004, despite the two Republican candidates' varying military backgrounds. (Bush was in the Texas Air National Guard, but did not serve overseas.)"

In other words- the old fogies that he charged up San Juan Hill with, shot down the Red Baron, and everything else McThuselah is supposed to have done-- and that no longer have to worry about following a Bomb, Bomb Bomb everywhere nut into war support McThuselah-- while the active warriors- who want some common sense in a foreign policy- and someone that supports them (instead of voting against the GI bill)- support Obama....

Seems right...Its long been shown that the under 30 and the educated folks of the country support Obama by nearly 70%...

Those are people who haven't had enough life experiences to know sheet from shinola and pseudointellectuals. The rest of us are just a bunch of hicks that are clinging to our guns and our religion out of bitterness...

Bottom line is.............. McCain will probably receive more military votes if one believes this poll.

Since the under 30 and educated will vote for Obama, as you say, who will you be voting for because you certainly are in neither of those groups.

Read a funny quote by a Dem strategist the other day.......(paraphrasing)

"Eggheads and Blacks alone cannot elect Obama, and that's where he stands now."

Definitely won't be McThuselah--this country can't stand 8 more years of Bush policy- nor can I bring myself to vote for someone so tied to the corporate fascist movement...
Can't see John Tyson or the CEO of Monsanto making a very good Agriculture Secretary..... :( :(

With his "I'm the biggest freetrader in the world" policy- I wouldn't be surprised if its Joesley Batista or one of the other Brazil Batista boys... :( :(

Why are the troops abroad the ones giving to Obama?

To me its quite simple- they've moved into the 21st century... :)

Can you imagine in this day and age of computerized warfare wanting a Commander in Chief that doesn't know how to send an e-mail or get on the internet :???: :???: :???: :(

They just mentioned on TV- that while Obama is widely supported by all current military-overseas and at home- plus their families-- that the reason he is behind with veterans is because that group is more heavily composed of men and over 50- a group in which McThuselah leads nationally...

At least you know where he stands. Obama is talking out of both sides of his mouth.

Old Komrade, you don't have to like the man, but what he endured should not be made light of. I know I couldn't have endured what Johnny Mac did......could have YOU???

You must lead a real miserable life that you feel you must cut down veterans. I'll take a veteran over an ego filled PIG any day.

I don't have any qualms of his sitting in a POW camp- nor any of all those guys that sat there too...And I had several friends that died in that also ill conceived, ill managed war too...I had hoped we had learned from that..

But the way McThuselah portrays himself- those years sitting in a POW camp give him the leadership experience of Teddy Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, and Douglas MacArthur all combined...But truthfully he didn't lead anything did he?

Just what leadership has your Messiah shown? I'd like to know how long he could have lasted at the Hanoi Hilton. Hussein couldn't even carry Johnny Mac's jock strap.

For someone who wants to meet with Hugo Chavez, Kim Jong Il, Mahckmood Ackmudenijad (raghead in Iran), and everybody else in the world who hates the United States, why does the thought of meeting with someone from FOX News make Hussein dirty his diaper?

Now you can go ahead and delete this post, too.

Obama couldn't last ten minutes before he would capitulate to the enemy. And yet the liberal socialist think he could be president. He doesn't have the backbone to empty McCains pot.

So in other words- neither have any leadership experience....

Officers in the military must have some leadership qualities, and as long as Johnny Mac has been in DC, I'd say he has some leadership experience. The Messiah has not a scintilla of leadership experience OR qualities. He just recites what he is told from his handlers.

Why does the Messiah refuse to meet with someone from FOX News?
