I don't mean to criticize.
You truly are a liberal...as long as you say you didn't do what you just did, it makes it alright.

Yes, time keep getting better because 'good' continues to fight against 'evil'...parent work to provide better for their children.

I like to think of myself as a student of history and use the instances I have read about, as we all should, about the happenings of the future.

But...........................history is not always the truth.

Don't worry yourself by looking down at and on me and other conservatives here.

This thread is the ultimate insult and I will never read anything you write the same way again.

Mike, I'm sure it's not the first time you encountered liberal elitism...she's just trying to enlighten us poor, ignorant rednecks.

By the way, how's your drought doing??

and to educate you about the phenomenon of Millennium Thinking

That is the nature of information warfare and you could in fact be victims

Thank you Reader, for using your above average intelligence, to educate us, who are below your level.

I'm sure glad that there are a very small minority, like yourself, that are not at all fooled by what the media reports. It helps keep the majority on the straight and narrow!

Mike, I believe you took this as if it were directed against you, which it decidedly was not.

I was quite influenced by reading the posted article by the Russian KGB officer which was the most extreme of the things I read here but there are lots of examples of doom and gloom type articles cited here and it did not and does not make sense to me.

I do not look down on you or other conservatives. I do believe that there is hysteria in certain sectors of the Internet right wing press and to the extent that some people here cite those sources, I find it shocking.
Of course, there is no hysteria from the left!!!

Driving home today I thought about how China, Iran, and Russia might as we speak be thinking up ways to take advantage of the financial crisis in the U.S. and the lowered status of the U.S. in the world to further undermine U.S. morale with information warfare and other, more direct means, such as economic warfare and provoking an escalation in Gaza etc. Which is exactly what Iran is doing in Gaza...

Why is that so unthinkable?

while some might be thinking of taking advantage, I doubt it is Russia.. thier economy is hinged on ours..mostly due to energy costs. when we plunged, they went along as well..

We could further hit Russia's pocketbook (and our OPEC "brothers") if we didn't have the leftwingnut's doom and gloom hysteria that is keeping us from drilling in ANWAR, off shore, etc.....

There are a lot of drillings rigs stacked in the Willston basin for oil and Texas where the Burnett Shell has been the big play for gas. This is in areas that the energy companies own the leases. If I have understood some of the news about the Williston basin there is more oil there than in the Saudia Arabia deserts. Why were the rigs stacked because the price of oil went down. Also does any one have any ideas how many cars were on the roads in 1915 and what gas would cost them compared to what we pay now. Guess and I will reply later.

Right now the breakeven price for drilling in North America is about $40/bbl, taking in costs and expected profit level.

Bringing oil to the surface in Saudia Arabia is about $5-8. I might be a little off on my numbers, but that's why.

Mayan Calendar and many others. More specifically, December 23, 2012. It has been foretold by sooth sayers from all walks of life. Email panic has me tickled. Google all about it. No need to cut and paste since ya'll happen to have computers :D
