Missouri Legislature Takes Steps to Counter Animal Enterprise Terrorism
Two Bills Provide Greater Protection for Farms, Ranches and Other Facilities
The Missouri House of Representatives and Senate are taking solid steps towards reducing the exposure of its constituents and their employers to animal enterprise terrorism. Missouri Senate Bill 615 extends the ''Animal Research and Production Facilities Protection Act'' to include provisions that apply to all agricultural research and production facilities. This bill broadens the scope of punishable offenses and includes punishment for anyone who provides material support. For example, a person or entity who provides financial support, housing or transportation, will also be liable in the event that a crime is committed against a facility.
