Any more news on this??

Nothing- the website says the search is continuing- they have a picture of a cute kid on there...This is mountain, heavily forested country (near Kalispell)....Cat and bear country too- and if I remember Evergreen right it is built like a lot of those towns are, right in the middle of the trees with houses/housing sections scattered thruout the timber...

Missing toddler found dead near Kalispell
By The Associated Press

KALISPELL, Mont. - The remains of a 3-year-old boy apparently kidnapped from outside his grandparents' house in Evergreen were discovered late Friday, Sheriff Mike Meehan said today.

Meehan declined to release further details on the death of Loic J.M. Rogers. A press conference was scheduled Saturday afternoon at the Flathead County sheriff's office. Meehan thanked community members and officials who searched for Loic.

The boy was reported missing Wednesday night. His father said he took Loic out to his car and told him to get in at 7 p.m. Wednesday, as he went back into the house to get Loic's little sister.

The father "said he was inside only for a minute," Meehan said Friday. When he came back outside, the boy was gone. The father said he searched for about 20 minutes before calling law enforcement. A nationwide Amber Alert was issued Thursday.

On Friday, Meehan said, "We don't have a lot of leads, but we feel pretty strongly that there probably is foul play involved. That is based solely on the fact that we haven't found the boy and we should have, under the conditions in the area we were searching and the number of searches and the number of people searching."

Meehan said Friday that officials were looking into sex offenders in the area, and interviewed neighbors of the grandparents' and family members.

Along with dealing with the death of a child, now that poor

Missing toddler found dead in septic tank

KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) -- The body of a 3-year-old boy who disappeared outside a home near here were found in a septic tank late Friday, less than 10 feet from where he was reported missing two days earlier, Flathead County Sheriff Mike Meehan said Saturday.

An autopsy performed in Missoula showed Loic J.M. Rogers drowned, Meehan said.

The blond-haired, blue-eyed boy was reported missing Wednesday night, and an Amber Alert was issued Thursday. The boy's father, Mark Rogers, told police he took Loic out to his car outside a friend's home and told the boy to get in, before going back into the house for Loic's sister.

Mark Rogers "said he was inside only for a minute," Meehan said Friday. When he came back outside, the boy was gone. The father said he searched for about 20 minutes before calling law enforcement.

Authorities said Saturday they had looked in the septic tank during search efforts, but did not see anything. They found the boy's body after draining the tank, Meehan said.

The manhole-sized lid to the septic tank was closed. Meehan declined to characterize the boy's death as a murder, but said investigators do not believe he could have climbed into the tank and put the lid back on.

One of the boy's parents had taken a lie detector test, but FBI agent Rick Rasmussen would not say which one or release the results.

Meehan said it would likely take four to five days to complete the investigation.

In an interview with The (Kalispell) Daily Inter Lake, Ariel Rogers confirmed Friday that she and her husband are involved in a custody battle for their three children. Mark Rogers was given temporary custody during their separation.

"I want the kids and so does he," Ariel Rogers said. "We love our children. (Mark) would never do anything to hurt our children."

A message left at a listing for Mark and Ariel Rogers Saturday morning was returned by his sister, Sarah Cavanaugh, who said she might be willing to talk after the sheriff released the details of the boys' death. Several calls made to Cavanaugh after the press conference rang busy.

Calls related to the boy's disappearance swamped the sheriff's office Thursday and Friday, and hundreds of area residents joined authorities in an extensive search that involved snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, search dogs and a helicopter.

Whatever happened, it doesn't sound right-- Montana legislature is now debating a Jessicas law-- and I'll bet this spurs up passage....I hope so......There is no sentence harsh enough for someone that abducts, molests, or harms a child....

It is just so sad... I just can't even imagine what the folks who know the family are going through.. I was thinking 3 year old wandered into the woods myself but the amber alert itself seems to think they suspected foul play right away.... I... wow...

I'd like to say that I feel terribly sorry for the parents, but after reading through everything and not knowing if they are involved or not, it just leaves you feeling sick. Double sick when I think about my 3 year old boy Ronan.

Well.. they parents are divorcing and in a custody battle so there is probably a level of distrust to begin with.. Doesn't surprise me that there is some sniping going on and I am sure the police will be investigating both of them, judging by the lie detector teste request is sounds like they are.

2 other kids are involved in the custody battle... These stories are always so tragic..
