Poll: Montana voters swing to GOP; 32% approve Obama's performance
Billings Gazette | Oct 29, 2010 | Mary Pickett

Nearly 60 percent of Montana voters disapprove of the job President Barack Obama is doing, according to a Montana State University Billings poll released Friday.

Only about 32 percent of those surveyed like how the president is carrying out his duties.

The poll also found that among statewide voters:

Forty-nine percent said they planned to vote for the Republican candidate in their state House of Representatives race. About 35 percent said they would vote for the Democratic candidate.

Nearly 61 percent opposed health care reform legislation enacted into federal law this year. About 27 percent supported it.

You wouldn't believe how far left leaning the papers are out here.

Only thing you heard about concerning Sarah Palins visit to Missoulia was the 30 protesters.
Not the 1700 people who showed up and paid to hear her speech.
Also not mentioned was the money went to a charity. I cannot remember if it was a battered womens shelter or a group helping teen mothers.

All the daily papers in Montana (except Great Falls Tribune) are
owned by Lee Enterprises. A big corporation out of Iowa. And yep,
they are liberal.

Go Montana Go     Would it be bad to say FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I'M PROUD OF MY STATE.   Well maybe not the first but I think you know what I was getting at.
GO MONTANA GO Vote Tea Party Republican. The bonus will be pizzing off the old coot from Valley County that calls you all nasty names

on a serious note, What makes me think the 35% voting for the Democrap are not ranchers that, if he had his way, would not be marketing beef from cattle old than 20 months? My guess is they are animal activists wanting a TOOL in Washington that will help curb beef consumption.

The Tea Party Pledge

We, the undersigned, pledge to vote only for sound candidates regardless of their party. We seek traditional candidates who favor an anti-globalist, America-First platform. We shall only vote for a candidate who:

(1) Supports reductions in legal immigration; favors attrition policies, ending birthright citizenship and terminating chain migration; and opposes amnesty and illegal immigration. (Both legal and illegal immigration are driving down American wages and undermining traditional demographics.)

(2) Supports America First economic policies and opposes free trade (e.g. NAFTA, et al.), which is destroying the American economy. (Historically conservatives opposed free trade, a globalist practice that Karl Marx himself supported.)

(3) Supports national self-defense but opposes interventionism and nation building. The transformation of the Middle East to liberal democracy is Wilsonian liberalism, not conservatism.

(4) Opposes federal bailouts.

(5) Supports states' sovereignty.

Unless a Democrat or Republican candidate meets the criteria above, we pledge not to vote or to vote third party.

Tam-- you seem to forget that many of the issues supported by a majority of farmer/ranchers/hard core conservatives/pro American's that are R-CALF members in Montana/Wyoming/SD and around the country (and by me) are the same that are now being promoted by the Tea Party's that have been accepted by several current Republican candidates----- that have evolved from the neocons, that had control of the country befores', mishandling of the past 15 years... :) :)

It is nice to see the country evolving and folks realizing that foreign countries should not be telling us what laws we can or cannot pass- or what we do or do not have to import...... :D

But yet he calls them TEA BAGGERS and RIGHTWINGNUTTERS.

BTW Oldtimer I heard a Montana election ad the other day that surprised me. It was targeting your hero Senator Tester. :? It even says he is not up until 2012 but they want him gone so bad they are already buying ads targeting him. The first ad should be pointing out his support for the $15 million one way port of entry at Whitetail.

OT and many like him didn't like the "Neocon" liberal policies of Bush, they wanted Change, so they voted for progressives.

Just keep voting in the radical left OT, maybe one day they will be the Conservatives you are looking for.

FH the tribune is not much better. They hadn't printed anything about the Palin speech except for a really small piece and it was about the protesters.
A friend of mine who went to see Palin called them on it.
The article they printed in the actual paper was way in the back and pretty much hidden.

You know what is so funny about Tester?
He didn't even win his own county. That should have told the rest on the state something.
Maybe it should be brought up him wasting our county tax dollars by having the sheriff's department chase deer and antelope off of the local airport so the plane he is coming in on can safely land.
Why not use the Great Falls airport?
Too long of a trip.
Then have deputy sit there with him til his family comes and picks him up.

A deputy I know called him on it. They no longer have to go up there and do the animal control and babysit.

I didn't mean the Tribune was any better, just that it wasn't
owned by Lee Enterprises.

I did know that Tester's own county didn't vote for him.
We have friends there and they didn't vote for him either. :p

He's just another run-of-the-mill politician.

Can't say I disagree with you on McCain other than the fact I think he should be on THIS YEAR's list. I did not like the way he ran his election against Obama. He should have questions the incompetent twit on everything from his Birth certificate, hidden college records, his church pastor, his neighbor buddy Ayers and the list goes on and on. He should have let Momma Grizzly Sarah off the chain and he could have saved the US from the fool in the Oval Office.
