MONTANA WEATHER

MONTANA WEATHER-- the Weatherguessers missed this one- predicting a few scattered showers today...And this morning felt more like snow- than thunderstorms- and I was wondering if the 4th of July had been too early to be removing long johns... Didn't think the temp was even going to get to 60...

Fifteen minutes ago I was cleaning out a hay pen and saw a little shower coming-it started dumping rain- wind came up- ground turned white with pea sized hail- dumped 1/2 inch of rain here in about 5 minutes...Water standing everywhere in the yard...Still have some little drifts of hail... Hopefully it was small enough and the wind light enough it didn't do too much damage to the crop....

Must have been pretty isolated- as I called the weather bureau to let them know about the hail (no forecast for hail) and they said they hadn't gotten any (only light rain) and that they had no other reports of any....

At least you got through all I got was a busy signal, so no spotter report from me.
Unless they hear it over the phone hitting something or pictures it didn't happen.

Had a nice thunderstorm roll through here, luckily no hail. Checked the rain gauge and we got .91" of rain today. Straight down with little to no wind.
Lost power for 4 hours. Our regular lineman is on vaction, of course, and the replacement does NOT believe that we know which pole holds the breaker that trips every single time a lighting bolt gets close.
Happens everytime.
