OT should be along any minute now to let us know how these Montana Democrats are racist and radical extremists.

The Montana Democratic Party today called on Congressman Steve Daines, who claims in his latest TV ad to be a “fifth-generation Montanan,” to clear up confusion about his roots by releasing his birth certificate.

HELENA, Mont. – The Montana Democratic Party today called on Congressman Steve Daines, who claims in his latest TV ad to be a “fifth-generation Montanan,” to clear up confusion about his roots by releasing his birth certificate.

Daines’ latest ad asserts he “grew up in Bozeman, a fifth-generation Montanan,” which directly contradicts earlier versions of his biography when he claimed: “I’m a third-generation Montanan, kind of that classic Montana kid.”

The Congressman is so desperate for ties to Montana that he’s confused the facts and himself.

The problem? Daines was actually born in southern California.

The Montana Democratic Party said a simple release of Daines’ birth certificate will clear up any confusion for Montanans.

No they just want to tie him to California in peoples minds- because Montana has a dislike for folks that want to Californicate the state...

But its clear altho he and his parents came and left the state and then returned- he has ties to the state that go back several years... Just looks bad when he doesn't know himself and makes conflicting statements...

He is about as good as you get. He was the only one going around listening to people on the listing of the sage grouse. What do you think of him OT?

A spokeswoman said Daines’s great-great grandmother is buried in Conrad, Mont., and that Daines’s parents moved to California for a job just before he was born. They returned to the Big Sky State when he was a small child. The congressman also believes he was misquoted in the 2002 piece.

“Democrats have always worked to dictate Montanans’ health care decisions, how they run their businesses, and what choices they make for their families, but it’s really par for the course that they’re now trying to dictate someone’s personal history,” said Daines spokeswoman Alee Lockman. “They may be able to dictate the way Montanans live their lives, but unless Montana Democrats want to move Steve’s great-great-grandmother’s grave, they can’t change Steve’s strong heritage as a fifth-generation Montanan.”

Daines is running against interim Democratic Sen. John Walsh, who was lieutenant governor until appointed this month to fill the seat opened by Max Baucus’s confirmation as ambassador to China.
