By CHARLES S. JOHNSON
Gazette State Bureau

HELENA - Montana voters would most likely vote for Republican John McCain for president next year, and they are least likely to support Democrat Hillary Clinton, a new Gazette State Poll shows.

The three presidential candidates that ran strongest in the poll were Republicans. Following McCain, a U.S. senator from Arizona, were former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson of Tennessee.

Hillary received 39% would vote for her- 61% would not...The top Dem was Obama with 55% would and 45% would not vote for him....

"Montana voters have an open mind on supporting Democrats for president, but they aren't going to have an open mind when it comes to Hillary Clinton," Coker said. "For Hillary Clinton to win Montana, she needs a Ross Perot."
