Tam, why are you wanting the brands so bad. Going to brand some
BSE cows with a montana brand?

Tam must be willing to do some of those live urine tests and then truck those live ones across the border I guess!

Besides Rancher, you've got enough of your own untested ones, why would Tam want to send you more and screw up your percentages for OIE standards. That wouldn't help our North American export status would it?

Oh, but hey, Texas will get it done by approaching WHO, I guess.

Must live by international standards, when it comes to American trade, I guess. When it comes to Canadian trade, we're on our own, Science doesn't count!, just trade.

Why are you guys so worried about me knowing what someones brand is? Maybe I just would like to know why it is such a big secret to who has what brand registered. :roll: No wonder R-CALF doesn't want to be burdened with an National trace back system. There is not enough money in the Montana beef industry to run the State Brand inspections and have them on line where anyone can access them for free. I guess being part of a national system is really out of the question :wink:

You are right TAM ,The data entry page has room for brands on our system and it's not money for the Montana beef industry to run the State Brand inspections and have them on line where anyone can access them for free 24/7 with the animal's RFID tag number.You then can see if the RFID tag matches the hot brand and breed data.

CattleCo,We load brands for whole countrys into our databases and Porker is right on the money.You have to remember that every cattleman south of to border all the way to the country's of CHILE an Argentina use BRANDS as that is their premises code.In some countrys they rebrand upside down when the animal is sold.
