Moose

Just got notified that I did get drawn for a ND moose tag in unit M8. Anyone from around there? Rollette, Towner, and Cavalier counties. If so what does the moose population look like?

If I were you I would check out fishingbuddy.com or nodakoutdoors.com there are some moose over there, but I would ask the guys on these forums as more would probably know more because some live around there.

Moose in northwest Mn. are almost gone no season for about 10 years .Learn all you can before you go hunting , The locals are pretty tight lipped They want to shoot 1 too .

We drew a tag in MN , it took 28 years to get it . Enjoy your hunt .

The unit in NE ND is closed due to low numbers also. Only 162 moose tags given out in the whole state so not too much competition. I have heard the farmers up there are pretty good about info. They dont like the damage the moose do to fences and fields. Will be a great time spending it with my two sons!

Congrats, I'll bet you make memories to last a lifetime. Talk to the local custom operators, they cover a lot of ground and have no reason to be secretive. The crop dusters especially should see moose.
I got a draw tag last year and was hoping for a big old bull, until I saw a fat young one standing in a field. Twenty minutes later I was loaded up and headed home. Resisting temptation is sometimes the hardest part of a hunt.

Thanks for the reminder to enter the Maine Moose Lottery, I haven't re-entered since I got one my Jr year in High School.
